Best Drummer Alive?

lol John Bonham…

This is such a vast question…The argument will be that all the technical guys from the metal bands can’t groove or play a simple beat, vice versa. There is no correct answer.

I have no opinion on a best. But my favorites of right now (coming from a long time drummer) are Will Hunt who has played with a ton of bands, Dark New Day, Stuck Mojo, Evanescence, Skrape etc. Along with Chad Szeliga of Breaking Benjamin…Both can shred to bits but they write such inspiring drum parts while keeping true to playing for the song.

Chris Adler (lamb of god) has got incredible talent.
Just when I thought he couldn’t get any better, Wrath was released, and what can I say? still ranks number one on my list.

how about you?[/quote]

Duh! Stewart Copeland.

Alright … I’m not saying he’s the best drummer, but I really enjoy Dave Grohl on the skins. He made Songs for the Deaf (QOTSA) so much better.

Dude you need to expand your musical horizon
If you wanna see some good drum feature go see ‘‘the black page drum solo’’ by Terry Bozzio

this thread was originally going to be titled “who’s your favorite drummer?” but I thought somebody might actually click on a thread titled a little more dramatically.

I don’t think anyone can deny John Bonham was great. His son Jason is just as good or maybe even better.

I like Aynsley Dunbar
(I guess nobody know who he is anyway)

Stephen Morris when he was in joy division…epic drummer

Buddy Rich, John Bonham that’s a pretty broad horizon. I’ve heard Bozzio and he’s decent.

brann dailor, unique and imaginative, chris adler, good but a bit samey same, agree with the guy who digs the tool drummer, really cool drummage

Mike Mangini, bar none.

He also happens to be the world’s fastest drummer.

If there is anything I like more than Fitness it’s music.

Vinnie Paul

The Rich man. Timeless.

Sorry guys but the win goes to Pete Sandoval of Morbid Angel.

Another guy mentioned Dave Lombardo and seeing how Slayer is my Favorite band I thought I should post some of Daves work too.

Didn’t he play on a Whitesnake album?

Shiela E. I actually went to a concert of hers once. She was great and very easy on the eyes I must say. Then you got the late great Tito Peunte (sp?). Some great latin drumming.
