Who in your opinion is the world’s best deadlifter?
the best of all time? Ed coan. Lamar gant.
Gant’s one of the best lifters of all time…
Coan obviously.
Magnusson pulled huge at SUCH a young age.
Konstantine Kostanov is my second favorite.

Anyone now what he’s up to. Haven’t seen his name pop up lately. Did he ever make the transition to strongman.

idk about strongman, but my friend Sam Gammer has competed against him at a few Highlands game events.

If you have the Vs channel, he lifts in IFSA
Mark Felix from strongman is the best DL’er in strongman and claims a 440kg DL without a suit. I’d love to see him actually pull in PL’ing to prove it.
Konstantin Konstantinovs 948 at 275 is nuts,
obviously coan and gant are freaks,
Oleksandr Kutcher blows my mind; 793 at 165!!!
E. Sajeeva Bhaskaran; 573 at 114…
and of course Dan Wohleber, first 900 pound deadlift ever (well, that everybody agrees on) and he did it at 21 years old, yea…
Maxim Podtynny, heaviest sumo ever at 909, the list goes on…
I guess kutcher gets my vote.
forgot to mention Tibor Meszaros’ 927 without a belt.
Still going with kutcher though
It’s a pretty tough call. Vince Anello’s 810 @ 198 BW was pretty frickin’ impressive. Konstantin is an animal, too, when it comes to the deadlift, and of course there is Ed Coan.
Tony Caprari 766 @ 198 age 21.

wasn’t that 810 by Vince done with broken ribs to?
Gary Heisey did as high as 925 back in the APF in the early to mid 80s.

You may all want to do some research, big time ! The first deadlifter who hit the 400 KG (naturally, no suit) was Mr. Rudolph Koester (Germany). Furthermore, the best Deadlifters ever were Sandow and Goerner.

Jesus you’re full of it. Again, explain?

I’m sorry, how is anything I said wrong? I said the first 900 LB (read, POUND) deadlift was Dan Wohleber, last I checked a 400 kilo deadlift was 881 lbs, somebody correct me if I am wrong. Sure, this Koester guy sounds strong, more power too him, but as we are discussing the next best deadlifter after andy bolton I would have to put Konstantinovs 948 at 275 up there man. You can have your difference of opinion but I dont see how I need to do some research, BIG TIME!
Hell, I even found this lifter you were talking about: Rudi Kuester (from Germany, go figure) and his 882 at 308 was done in 1988 at age 33, hmm, wohlebers 900 at 268 in 1982 at age 21 pretty much kicks it ass, sorry mate.
