Best Diet Supps for Women

I was wondering if any of the ladies could answer a few questions for my wife and I. Since the ephedra ban, we have had no success in finding a diet supplement that will work for her. I have used T-3 and clen, and the ephedrine-caffiene-asprin and had awesome success with both. She will not go that route though. She is an over the counter woman. Her diet is clean and she works hard cardio, no weights, and has plataued.

So, two questions, one, do the still make ephedra based products , like in Canada or somewhere where I could mail order them, and under what names if so?
The other is, what other aids have any women used? I hear differing views on CLA. You can still buy ephedrine over the counter in Colorado, if any women have used ECA,and would comment on their experience with it, I might be able to convince her.
Please, just any opinions.

To be honest, I can’t say much with regard to your question about ephedra based products. What is the purpose of finding a new diet supplement for her? To break through the plateau you mentioned?

If this is the case (and if she’s adamantly against training with weights) I’d say she ought to try incorporating some different movements into her w/os (plyometrics, a new sport, if not learning to lift correctly).

I’m not exactly sure what kind of “hard cardio” she’s using but I do assume that you know that the body will adapt to any exercise after a prolonged period of time: “The best exercise to do is the one you’re not doing”. This is why training for speed, power, and generally, being “better” yields such dependable results.

Also, if you’ve not heard of the paleodiet, I’d highly recommend checking it out. Also, check out the effects of balancing out the Omega-3 vs. 6 proportions of your diet for fat loss (Carlson’s Lemon-Flavored Cod-Liver Oil is the best). For my part, I like depending on real food and not dietary supplements as much as possible. Better long-term and short-term rewards, I’d say. Any of my clients that have given this diet a try (even slightly) have seen automatic changes in body comp.

I know I’m not directly answering your questions. Either way, just some food for thought. To each their own.

Best of luck.

40&Big, have you considered HOT-ROX Extreme for her to try?

D

Why won’t she lift? She’d have better results if she were building some metabolic boosting muscle in addition to that cardio.

I’ve used both HOT-ROX and HOT-ROX Xtreme. I had good results using those but at the time I was also lifting damn heavy and my eating was spot on. I can’t say she’d have the same results.

Why is she against weights?

And since when is ephedra banned? I still see it all over nutrition sites. You can practically order it anywhere.

She needs to lift.

I agree with the she needs more Iron in her diet.

Ephedra and ma huang have been banned in the US since 2004. The products you see are for ephedra extract, not the same thing. Not close.
I really don’t know her aversion to weights. I have a full gym in my house and have lifted for 25 years.

She has been uninterested. I wish she would. When I try to talk to her about it, it turns into a fight. Shes not lazy, maybe I just need to turn her on to this site and let her “learn” by herself. That usually works best.

There’s a thought…although I’m not sure why “learn” in in quotations.

Wrong forum. You should post your questions on the supplements forum or to the sorority. Most of the women on this forum are more interested in improving their lifting than they are in dieting.

However, not wanting to appear unsympathetic (yeah, I have my moments), I recommend you try to determine what the root cause is and where her fear comes from. Here is an article you may find interesting:

I have a feeling that supplements, legal or otherwise, will not solve her problem.

“Learn” is in quotations because me referring her to this site is a passive aggressive approach to getting her to see what I have been trying to tell her for years, while letting her discover it for herself.
Thanks for the feedback people.

She’s definitely not going to find her “Fix” in a bottle of supplements. If anything, she should re-evaluate her diet to make sure she is eating at the right times and the right foods. Lifting would not hurt either and she does not necessarily have to go heavy but, “LEARN” to lift. This website has plenty of women and men who have successfully achieved their fitness goals.
Good Luck!
