We did this a while back with training articles, now let’s do it with diet articles. The purpose is to point new T-mag readers to good articles and to share with others what articles have really influenced you - it’s a big fat learning experience in other words, which is what this forum is all about.
What is the best diet-related article you’ve read at T-mag? Type the name of the article and provide a link like this: "I think one of the most useful diet articles was “Hey, Balance This!” by Lonnie Lowery. You can find it here: Strength Training, Bodybuilding & Online Supplement Store - T NATION
If you provide the name and the link, I’ll put you in a drawing for a free box of the new Biotest Grow! bars.
The best diet related article on the web site, bar none, is the Diet Manifesto, by Chris Shugart. It gave me a wake up call and now my food log never leaves my side. Read it NOW at Strength Training, Bodybuilding & Online Supplement Store - T NATION, especially if you keep whining about not losing fat, or not putting on muscle.
Don’t Diet, Appetite for Construction by John M. Berardi(2nd question).
The (P+C) morning meals give me enough energy to lift and (P+F) afternoon and night helps keep fat off.
What’s the reason many people fail to keep off the weight after they use the Atkins diet to lose it? They have no idea how to come off of a keto diet. Luckily, JB shows us how in an Appetite for Construction column:
While I do like “Foods That Make You Look Good Nekkid” - I have to put my vote for the two recent “The Winning Formula” articles. Wow. Liked them VERY much. And here’s where they can be found:

Hey my vote goes to Foods that make you look good nekid… Helped me getting started… Now i have a better idea of what should and what shouldnt be included in my everyday diet
I also thought that Solving the Post-Workout Puzzle Parts 1 and 2 were helpful. They can be found here: http://testosterone.net/html/141post.html

And I also agree about Massive Eating and Don't Diet. But here's a good article by John Berardi in his Appetite for Construction: www.t-mag.com/articles/175app.html
The one article that TAKES THE CAKE (well, of course, cake was an exclusion) was Alesi's Iron Dog style Meltdown dieting parameters provided at the following addy:
(questions #1 and “Ripped in 8 Weeks ideas”)
WHAM! Dropped over 7% BF and CONCURRENTLY GAINED 3 pounds from my baseline weight in 8 weeks. Chris pass these results on to TC too as in issue 212, I said I would give you final tallies but have yet to do so and my 8 weeks have been complete! It is a true pain in the a*s, I tell you and normally my supplement bills go up and grocery bills go down on a “cutting” cycle of any sort - but this time was rare as both went UP.
BUT I TELL YOU WHAT - ANYONE WHO SAYS THEY HAVE MAXED THE AMOUNT OF FAT LOSS OR MAXED THE AMOUNT OF MUSCLE MASS THEIR GENETICS HAS ALLOWED DOESN’T HAVE THE BALLS TO TRY THIS PROGRAM!
Pretend you're back in high school and mean ol' Mr. Berardi has just passed out a pop quiz. Luckily, there's only one question:
Which of the following statements is true?
A) Most people succeed in training well enough to grow, but they fail in eating well enough to grow.
B) Most people eat well enough to grow, but they don’t train well enough to grow.
Pencils down. Okay, which is it? If you said "A," give yourself a gold star. But don't feel too badly if you chose "B." To an extent, both answers are correct. Most people probably train and eat incorrectly! But if I had to pick one answer that was more true than the other, I'd say "A" would be the best choice. If you're not growing, it's probably your diet, not your training, that's holding you back.
YOu got to love how massive eating part I starts off

Close seconds have to be massive eating, as it finally got me to believe that eating more than 2,000 cals wasnt going to get me fat, now i'm eating 4,000 maintenance, and i'm finally getting bigger and stronger. Got to include all the roundtables(fat, protien, Carb) as those are extremely informative as well, I'm out guys, deuce
