I am looking for suggestions. Id like to do a recomp this winter.
I was on TRT for 3 years prior to coming off a year ago for fertility purposes (successful).
Prior to that I had only tried a few anabolics (super tren and dienolone in 2011 and low dose trenevar in 2015). The summer of '15 I was shredded. The trendione/trenevar really made me lean and I was already a pretty lean prior to that.
In 2017/2018 I added low dose primo to my TRT for a year or so and had great results. My experience is limited outside of these compounds, so I am curious what are the best compounds to use for a recomp.
I don’t like giving out doses. Let’s just say it was less than 750mg/wk total.
Diet and the ability to keep training load high is gonna be the biggest driver in a recomp. How many have you attempted? First couple times I tried i ended up bulking.
I wasn’t attempting to pry but curious of your protocol.
I’ll attach a photo of the trendione/trenevar I took at a low dose for a recomp that worked great. I was much less educated back then and didn’t fully grasp what was taking and moving forward I’d like to use a better method
When on trt I was on 125/wk test cyp and added 200-300mg of primo on top of that. Originally that was for the “mood enhance” effect a lot of guys get with primo. But it def helped me get more vascular over time. Total test was around 1100. Estrogen was in the lower 20s. And sHBG was 12 if I recall correctly. Lipid profile looked fantastic. First time I have ever been super vascular. Strength boosted as well but those were nice perks.
With my limited experience with anabolic so was hoping to get insight to other compounds that could help with the winter recomp effort.
(I have been told this is ment, that it’s trenevar, and that it’s trendione so I’d like to get clarity on what type of compost is was as my body responded well to it)
I’ve been trying to research other trt protocols and have read a lot of guys trying Deca or NPP to help with the “feel good” as well as to help quicken workout recovery and joint health.
If that was a more viable (and cost effective) route I was going to try that. Primo isn’t cheap but it did give me good results.
That’s really good to know. So without asking you what you ran specifically… Can you share what a good range would be for running NPP with 125 or 150 mg of test per week
I’m not even sure where to start with that and I would like to start low and work my way higher. Most protocols I have found online are for cycle doses not TRT
Also, would it be advisable to add low dose NPP to a test-Primo protocol ?
Your in cycle territory now. Running all 3 low i think the benefit would also be very low.
Where are you body composition wise? What does your training and diet look like?
Never heard of these. Super Tren??? Is that like Super Jaws (the shark)? Trenavar I can guess that Tren and Anavar did the nasty and made a little baby.
I’d just use TRT, maybe Primo like someone else suggested but really that’s probably not needed. Recomp is a matter of proper hormones and diet. TRT is good enough
I’m not a bodybuilder. Former athlete now staring down middle age (woof).
I was in great shape most of last decade. 6-1 195 at my heaviest. Would flip between phases/years of heavy sets and HIIT depending on training goals etc. A couple of months before the lockdowns I blew out L5 S1 and took 90 days off to rehab. Then they locked us down and my training took a back seat as work took off. Ironically we had banner years during the lockdowns. I’m healed now for the most part and back in the gym.
Slight off topic. I had a freak illness in 2017 that caused muscle wasting. Lost weight. Felt like hell. At one point the urologist was lost. My test was 90 and estrogen was a 7. He said they could barely read my E level. That’s when trt came into the picture. I never sought it out. I had the option to go clomid mono or Trt and after a month decided on TRT but that was mainly to feel better. When hormones are that low you feel terrible. Plus the illness causes a flu like effect.
I’m not a doc but I feel like I know more about hormones and autoimmune responses than most physicians, and I owe a lot of that knowledge to places like this. I went through the gauntlet with people who really didn’t know anything. The silver lining is the realization that you have to be your own advocate, do the homework, figure out the solution. The primo seems to have had a positive effect on my immune system and overall health.
I’m 27# lighter than I was in Q4 2019. Need to add weight and get stronger. Recently had bloodwork done and can post that later.
I think most people on this forum feel the same way. The issue with todays medicine is that insurance companies control what is being treated and how.
Most doctors will not think outside the box because of this. I have 2 doctors. A GP for normal stuff and an osteopathic physician that does my bloodwork and TRT. He also helps with peptide therapy for injuries that i can’t fix myself. He doesn’t judge if my bloods are off because of running a cycle or contest prep. He just helps me get back on track. Of course i am paying out of pocket for his service but it’s worth every penny to be in control of my own health and have a doc working for me, not my insurance.
So what’s the plan? Do you have a training log up? Let’s get you back in business!!
Appreciate the feedback! I can post my protocol and blood work. Currently following a 5 day split. With this routine I’m off Wednesday’s and Sundays But I have added stretch/sauna/core to those days.
What’s your current workout looking like? Are you preparing for a competition?
Currently doing pplpp of weekends. Was gonna compete in April but the wife booked a vacation at the end of Feb so that would be about 5-6 weeks out from the show so prob not gonna be able to this spring.
Basically just coming out of a bulk and starting to diet.
Appreciate the feedback @s.gentz
What are your thoughts on test + primo + low dose proviron? My body didn’t like the hcg and test I was initially prescriber but really liked the test and primo I ran
I was thinking of trying mast with test but I am not sure if my hair would hold up to that. Thought process behind that was to get the mood or well being from mast. Oddly enough my libido was never sky high like I anticipated when on test and primo.
I have never tried mast or proviron. Open to any suggestions
Test and primo is a great combo. I’ve used it multiple times. Slow, lean gains. Primo is not great on the hair though if that’s a concern. You won’t really need the proviron as you already have a DHT with the primo.
Masteron is more of a hardening compound usually used near competition. I don’t see a benefit using it in a gaining phase.
What is weird is test + hcg caused a huge hair shed and gave me “blues”
Test cyp solo was fine
Test + primo made me vascular and ironically my hair seemed to get much thicker on this compared to test and hcg
When I was on test and primo I took a low dose anavar to see how that made me feel (I was chasing mood lift more than muscle gains) and that caused a huge shed
Pro hormones have never caused a serious shed (2 different rounds years ago)
I know everyone is different. And this may be redundant info as I have chimed in on a few of your posts, but my objective for adding a low dose mast or proviron wouldn’t be gains as much as it would be for mental / mood / libido perks …
Worth noting that the test dose was low as this was a TRT effort and the primo was lower than most would run for gains
