Where am I moving to?
Not Calgary (although I like the idea of looping the DVD for your child).
Not NEAR Toronto.

Not NEAR Toronto.
So you’re moving TO Toronto? Any particular reasons?
Yep to TO. Since you were able to decipher my cleverly encripted code, I’ll answer…
Basically, because I love the city, because most of my staff members are still in Canada (until they finish school and I can lure them down to the US and somewhere where bikini clad women are a part of everyday life - year-round), because I’ll save money this year by doing so (I would have moved to NYC otherwise), and because I have more time left on my visa so I’d like to create some good Canadian memories to wipe out the memories of London Ontario :-).
I’ll basically be taking the year to relax. By biggest goals are to improve my guitar playing, to take some journalism classes, and become an excellent photographer (and stay out of the science library for at least 365 days).
Ok, I’m sort of kidding. But sort of not. Basically I’ll be doing those things in addition to contributing to T-mag and working on some cool projects at JB.com. I’ll also be doing alot of seminars this year in TO and around the US and Canada.
If any Torontonians out there have suggestions for a gym to train at in downtown TO, I’m all ears.

Hell… I am still waiting for my tshirt that i ordered over 2 weeks ago, but im going to be patience with john since i know he is a stand up guy.
Station 7 - Gary Roberts(from the Maple Leafs) gym would probably be ideal for you.
They have everything you could possibly ever want in a gym. A bit too pricey for most.
Monster gym was my favourite while living in Toronto. I’m an olympic lifter but I never heard one complaint while snatching or “accidently” dropping a heavy jerk. Lots of hardcore lifting, good background tunes and great attitude.
By the way you’ll be in Toronto in time for the Winterlift Championships at U of T, Erindale campus. It’s on Feb. 7. There will be great lifting by some of our best men and women weightlifters. Last year there were athletes from Ontario, Quebec and Michigan. Check it out if you get a chance.
do your self a favour and stay away from the bally’s and premiere downtown. unfortunatly most of the somewhat hardcore gyms have been phased out. You can try venice on spadina ( its a tad bit too clean for my liking ) its probably one of the better gyms i’ve seen downtown.
JB,
If you are looking for Bikini’s year round,I’d like to invite you to Miami(that way I could just drive over to Science Link HQ).Don’t you guys get tired of the cold and snow?Any way, just an idea!
JB, let us know where you decide to train once in TO.
Thanks for the recommendations, guys! I’ll keep you apprised.
JB after trudging through the 15 cms of snow we got in the past two days, my words of wisdom to you would be to skip toronto entirely and move to a city where the weather doesnt change drastically every week.
