Berardi and Grow! bars

Hey all, I am very excited to get my Grow! bars. I was just wondering how everyone will fit them into their Berardi/ Don’t Diet style diet. Will you eat them as a P+C or P+F? Thanks for the input!

Well, since they have roughly 30g of carbs it would be pretty hard to eat them as P+F

They fall into the protein/carb catagory.

Good question. 30P/8F/31C. I am on the don’t diet right now (good results) and am anxiously awaiting my box as well. I will most likely include the bars as a PF meal, because of the large energy ammount. I just wish they had about 5-10 more grams of protein so it would be a real meal and not just a snack. I will also include them in occasional treats.

Makes an almost perfect P+C meal. I think Berardi allows either 5 or 10 grams of fat in a P+C meal, so that’s close enough either way. I’m going to have one after my post-workout Surge and maybe for breakfast on days when I’m late for work.

why dont you just forget about this stupid fucking overcomplicated diet and just eat like a normal healthy person, eggs, good meats and veggies with some good carbs like oatmeal as well.

Huckleberrry, maybe we don’t want to look like normal, healthy persons.

I think Berardi generally says 5g of fat per may, but 8g in a bar isn’t going to make or break your body comp unless you live on these bars.

Huckleberry, I fail to see how a diet that basically boils down to two different meal types can be called, "overcomplicated." What about it seems complicated? Maybe we can help.

Huck, although I value your and everyone else’s opinion on this forum, I fail to see how a Berardi style diet is overcomplicated. If anything, it is the simplest and healthiest diet plan I have ever come across. On the other hand, a calorie cycling diet or a keto style diet seems overcomplicated. Lean Eatin’ by Berardi basically says to eat plenty of protein and follow the food recommendations. Don’t keep a food log, etc. Berardi is the man when it comes to simple, healthy diets.

I remember reading that Berardi recommends 5 grams fat for P+C and 10 grams of carbs for P+F. I think the Grow! bars fit P+C the best. Hopefully in the future we will get Low Carb Grow! bars. I thought a great P+F would be the bar plus natural peanut butter. Maybe a cup of cottage cheese and the bar will be good also. Thanks everyone for the input.

Are you kidding? They CAN NOT be used as P+F meals they have 30g of carbs!

Okay maybe I was a little hard on Berardi, though I’m not totally convinced his “diet” wasn’t just page filler just to have “something new” to write about. Point is I find this particular diet plan rediculous and unnecessary. Maybe it’s not overcomplicated but it’s a pain in the ass. Can I have that piece of whole grain bread or bowl of oatmeal?? FUCK, my last meal was P+C so I can’t. Should I grill up that good looking steak?? GODDAMN did’nt I just have P+F a couple hours ago. Shit people, just eat clean and good (you know how), eat a lot (most people don’t), train your ass off (this is where most people definitely lack) and the results you want will be there. The formula isn’t infinitely impossible. Bodybuilders and athletes have been doing it with amazing results long before this diet was introduced.

My bad, I meant P/C. I agree, 31 carbs is greater than 8 fat grams. I’ll probably eat them as a snack around noon.

The diet is great and bodybuilders have been using diets like it for years. IE: TKD’s Animalbolics, No carbs after noon etc. etc.
The main theory behind it is scientificly sound: Do not eat lost of fat with lost of carbs. The theory is nothing new to those in the know…

“…just eat clean and good (you know how), eat a lot (most people don’t), train your ass off (this is where most people definitely lack) and the results you want will be there.”

Very true, at least for some. The rest of us have to put up with more fat gain than we’d like when on a gaining cycle. This diet makes a lot of sense, is not at all difficult to utilize, and really works well for natural trainers.

Anyone ever wonder how Berardi himself would fit into his own system? I mean to eat the dood… aah life’s mysteries.

I don’t know how or why I spelled “lots” Lost twice. Sorry.
