Cutting the back is so you can pull it down lower so it takes more too touch.
It might be easier to get on but if you get it on easy now it is not that tight.
Good luck

First time even trying a shirt so I don’t know if it’s too easy. But remember, this is just for shoulder protection, not for competition.
I tried it out last night and got some pretty good burst blood vessels under my arms so I don’t think it’s too loose. I am just looking for something that I can put on fairly easily and not spend a ton of time adjusting.
So, I guess I am saying, it is probably a decent competition fit, but I need it more for casual practice fit. Do you think that I would be better off exchanging it for a larger size or just cutting it?
Oh, and am I ever glad I added a few inches to my measurement before ordering or I would be doubly screwed…
Z,
If you can get it on yourself, or with just alittle assistance, it is about right for you. Keep the neckline against your neck and you can get protection without a ton of weight being required to get the bar down.
When you twist the sleeves inward and pull the neck down it changes everything. Add in a tight shirt and you are playing the game for real!

Well, I am able to get it on myself, but that is probably due to flexibilty than anything. Took a good amount of time and effort. However, getting it off almost ran into me needing someone to come over and rescue me from it. Eventually used the rack and a towing strap to hook under the back to help pull. That would have made for a nice story for one of my friends…
And just for the record, I can completely see the huge smile on your face as you talk about a tight shirt with turned sleeves and the neck pulled down.
