Bench problems

I’m following Renegade Bodybuilding but given the low rest between sets and the two first sets at 60%, the last 3 sets kill me in that I can’t get all ten reps with the prescribed 75% weight. In particular my bench has been awful. I maxed at 190 in the begining of August. Upon arrival at college my sets of six at 155 held for a little while, and then I tried Winning the Arms Race by Poliquim which my elbows hated. Top it all of with sprained thumb that hasn’t healed fully over the past 2.5 weeks. My bench stalls in the midpart and my tricep strength fell with the elbow probelms and the shitty left grip makes it even worse (racklockouts went from 135 to 120). Basically I really hate using bitch weight on the bench and if anyone knows of any elbow friendly tricep strengthing I can do or any advice at all I would appreciate it. I have started to load creatine to help with the short rest intervals. Thanks a lot.

It sounds like you’re suffering from overtraining. Maybe take about 5 days off (with serious cardio thrown in), and then start the program again. This time eat way more carbs after the work-outs. Make sure to have complex carbs in the system for 6 hours after the workout to blunt the over-training effect.

Yep. Sounds like overtraining to me, too. Take some time off, then start back again.
