Videos are cool. Anyone else like videos?
Is this the new “everyone post their bench video” thread? Nothing measures a mans testicular fortitude like a good ole fashioned bench off!
Edit: Hands no more than shoulder width of course, I mean, give or take an inch or three. Preferably no shoulder retraction. In fact its preferred if lifters have had previous shoulder reconstruction.

no. this is the ‘OP is talking shit about a 13 year old girl and now he’s getting called out for it’ thread. But I can understand the confusion.
@clutz15:
That sounds like a plan. My bench is nothing special but I’ll be cycling back to high carbs next week and it’s my 5,3,1 week so I may test my 1rm.
I’ve been prioritizing my deadlift lately since I see that as a “man-maker” exercise, even more so than the bench.
“You see that heavy ass weight over there on the floor?.. I’m gonna pick that shit up!”
Not that my pull is even remotely impressive, I just enjoy the feeling of yanking a few hundred pounds off the floor.
If I do get a vid of my 1rm bench, I’ll be sure to arch as much as possible and use a wide grip!

she could lose 30 pounds to just saying…lol, and just because I’m trying to drop 30 doesn’t mean I’m considered overweight…
If you could lose 30 lbs, and you weigh 200, that means you could lose 15% of your bodyweight. You are obviously overweight. I certainly couldn’t lose 30 lbs, and I’m carrying more fat than I’d like to.
And I’m not sure why you think she could lose 30 lbs… that makes no sense.
I’m also amazed at how many people call out ecchastang on his bench press. Pound for pound, he’s likely a top 5 bencher on this site, he has videos and meet records of his lifts, and he has an avatar picture. The people calling him out have none of these things.
And you’re lying about your bench press. I have yet to see someone who is actually strong criticize this girl. You know why? Because she’s fucking awesome.
I love Any Given Sunday.
Basically for someone to be 200 lbs and have the ability to lose 30 lbs of fat they have to have a maximum lean body mass of 160 lbs, and probably more like 155, so they are 20-23% bodyfat, which is definitely overweight. As for form, I am not a hardass anyway. In comps, I do comp form, and have a pathetic arch, so my ROM is more than I like, but outside of that, I to touch and go, occasionally raise my ass, etc.
I just thought it was crazy to criticize a 13 yr old pressing 240 raw, in any form. And she isn’t a big girl either. From a lb for lb standpoint she is stronger than the OP even if he can do 346 as stated, which I highly doubt.
Lookout guys hes 22 and trying to lose his spare tire, and plans on benching like 400 next year or something. But if you are a 13yo girl that benches more than most adult men he WILL CALL YOU OUT ON THE INTERNET

Also PM’s don’t work, so let’s see your 350 paused bench or whatever it is in this thread.
And her butt is on the bench the whole time FYI. It is a legal bench press regardless of whether or not you want to give it the internet’s fourth white light.
I saw Maryana at the Arnold Classic this weekend and had a interesting realization. The rest of the MHP booth was a bunch of fat bald guys (no disrespect) who were going to bench over 700 pounds. Then there was a normal 14yr old girl who was going to lift more than most men. Which one is better for the sport? The young woman absolutely.

As a fat, bald man I am severely offended and I demand satisfaction!

I don’t really feel either is “better” for the sport.
It’s powerlifting. The only people that like powerlifting are powerlifters, and even then, it’s only the people competing in the meet that care. This is a boring sport.

Short Youtube vids of big lifts are fun. Can’t say that I want to sit through a whole meet unless I’m lifting or helping a team or friend I know personally. Although it would be cool to say I was there when a WR is set haha.

That’s exactly what I’m saying. A lot of the folks that are wanting to “save powerlifting” only know it through youtube, when really, it’s a sport for the competitors.
