Lifting is like religion. The only correct way is “My way” and there is no other possibility. Why can’t people understand that there are different concepts and styles / goals that people are aiming at and leave it there.

A beautiful bench is one that moves the most weight utilizing the lifters abilities while doing so within their federations rules. She maximizes her natural abilities to achieve that end. That makes her a good bencher.

You were the one complaining about form for a strong girl executing fine form, not I. You were the one boasting of your 346 bench in perfect flat back full ROM form, not I.
how wadi boasting? you asked if i was jealous cause some girl pathetically puts up 240 and i said no and said what my bench was and great form. maybe you’re just jealous of me?

I highly doubt I am experiencing any bench jealousy. That is quite comical to think about. There are a few on this forum that can elicit that response from me, but you are NOT one of those. On another note, I don’t think it is possible for a 13 yr old to “pathetically” bench 240, its an impressive lift no matter the form. Is it the way I bench, not exactly, but it is still a pretty nice feat for her to accomplish.
Now maybe if she were your size (another thread you comment needing to cut 30 lbs) then maybe she could do even more.

she could lose 30 pounds to just saying…lol, and just because I’m trying to drop 30 doesn’t mean I’m considered overweight…

Dude, I was doing my best not to get into this with you. Morning weigh in 152.4 lbs, tonight is my 1+ week with wendler and I will do 325x2, last saturday, I hit 305x4 on my 3+ week, and the previous saturday I hit 296x6 on my 5+ week, all TnG. I haven’t did a gym TnG max on over a year and a half, but based on my 4 rep max and 2 rep max, I am somewhere between 340-350 all around 150 or so body weight.
Current powerliftingwatch.com ranking 21st in the 148.8 weight category on raw bench from a meet Feb 1st. So unless your little 346 bench is being done sub 170 lb bodyweight, STFU!

It is pretty awesome isn’t it? Amost 2.5 x bw bench and no leg drive.
Nah. My screen name is just another word for infinity.

200, but once i lose 30 (now 31) and can bench even more than i do now (which i will) then i will come back at you. do you have proof of this lift? plus how old are you? I’m 21 and by the time I’m 22 ill bet my own ass ill be pushin almost 4 hundo. you will see
So tell me, if you made your own federation, what bench rules would you set in place?
I’m biting my nails here waiting for OP to come out with his Sunday video and embarrass us all.
You’re going to cut 30 lbs and gain tons of strength?
Please, tell me more…
Also in for the video.
Is it Sunday yet?
Which Sunday did he mean when he said “Sunday”?

Perhaps “Any Given Sunday”…
Videos are cool. Anyone else like videos?

and plus no disrespect to powerlifters or anything but what she does and most PL’s do are NOT respectable bench presses, when i see somebody who’s hands are so spread out on the bar they are almost touching the plates, have their chest a foot off of the bench and press for a 6 inch range of motion its just pathetic. no offense to anyone here or anything but thats a bunch of bullcrap
“no disrespect”… Okay…
As Fletch said, PL is not just about strength but about training a movement. This means that you are trying to put yourself in the most mechanically advantageous position that is not prohibited by the rules of the sport. How PLers lift in competition and how they train to build strength are also not usually the same thing.
Contrast this with the multitudes of wannabe bodybuilders benching to an inch off their chest and having their spotter deadlift the bar off them on every rep. To say nothing of the shoulder injuries obtained by benching this way. Yes, this is clearly a much better way to bench.

If you could lose 30 lbs, and you weigh 200, that means you could lose 15% of your bodyweight. You are obviously overweight. I certainly couldn’t lose 30 lbs, and I’m carrying more fat than I’d like to.
And I’m not sure why you think she could lose 30 lbs… that makes no sense.
I’m also amazed at how many people call out ecchastang on his bench press. Pound for pound, he’s likely a top 5 bencher on this site, he has videos and meet records of his lifts, and he has an avatar picture. The people calling him out have none of these things.
And you’re lying about your bench press. I have yet to see someone who is actually strong criticize this girl. You know why? Because she’s fucking awesome.
I love Any Given Sunday.

Is this the new “everyone post their bench video” thread? Nothing measures a mans testicular fortitude like a good ole fashioned bench off!
Edit: Hands no more than shoulder width of course, I mean, give or take an inch or three. Preferably no shoulder retraction. In fact its preferred if lifters have had previous shoulder reconstruction.
