i think it is because they don’t realize it really is my max. perhaps i should be flattered that they think i’m capable of so much more or that they think i’m capable of lifting it even with them doing annoying distracting things around me. or perhaps they should learn to open their fucking eyes.

Another trick… just ignore people. Act/be so into your training and listening to your music that nobody can break into your zone. Pretend that you don’t notice them if they try to talk to you.

As for channeling it into the bar, I just can’t do that with these lifts. Deadlifts and squats totally but I need to be in a positive (I am epic win!) state of mind or I can’t seem to make the lifts click. I have to concentrate to get into a good state of mind when I’m distraught or frustrated. It’s a challenge for sure.

nah. she’s just over five feet. she’s also under 48kg. but she sure does got long legs! i suspect her lower legs are longer than mine (in relation to her upper legs). but… she gives me hope for getting the bar past my knees at least, heh. and for seeing that the paltry muscle mass i have is capable of being much stronger / more explosive than it is at present. i mean… of course she is elite and i am not. she has ability and i do not. she has better body composition than me… but still…
ok. i’ll ignore them and if that doesn’t work i’ll be rude to them. it is just for snatches. aside from that i can be more pleasant. strangely enough the people who train with intensity… don’t tend to bother me. it will help me a lot to think ‘this is what vegie would do’. so i’ll think that. thank you.

you should NEVER feel bad about refusing to work in with someone–no way! they are stealing your life force–and glommin on your lifting vibes! I firmly believe all people feed off positive energy, and you probably are radiant when you lift… especially when you concentrate for a pr…they might not realize it, or do it even remotely maliciously but they are after your glow!!! protect it!
