Hello,
Beginner Prep Course involves 3 days of running a mile for conditioning work. Easy conditioning section of Forever 531 also says people should be doing 3 days of easy conditioning.
Should I interpret this as A or B?
A. Only workout 3 times a week as the Beginner Prep Course states. Conditioning is already being taken into account for the 3 days of running a mile; there is no need to overtrain. You’re working hard enough in those 3 days and Rome wasn’t built in a day.
B. Don’t be a stupid, weak bitch and get your ass out there 6 out of the 7 days of the week. If those 3 extra days of easy conditioning are affecting your lifts, it’s because you aren’t doing EASY conditioning. If it’s HARD, you’re either pushing yourself too hard or you’re too OUT OF SHAPE and need even more of an ass-kicking via easy conditioning.
I know this is probably a stupid question, just that I’m trying to interpret what I read in the Forever 531 book and don’t want to end up overloading myself (and one of Jim’s motivations for writing the book was because people kept adding stupid things like doing a boring but big program with FSL incorporated and then running hill sprints 6 times a week while eating 1500 calories to lose weight). I don’t want to do the same with the beginner prep course template.
