Beet Red Face While Exercising

Hello everyone. My future mother-in-law has started to work out again after a long lay-off. Today she was doing leg lifts on her bed, and her face turned beat red. I would like to know if this is possibly something serious, or is it normal for some people when they start working out again. Would this be a sign of high blood pressure? Is this a sign of bad circulation? Should she stop doing this exercise, or would it possibly subside after she gets in better shape?Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Just my initial reaction but I would say she is not breathing while doing these. She needs top breath properly or yes her head will turn bright red.

It would also be worth getting a full physical. Couldnt hurt to know whats going on inside befor making this step and then you will also have something to compare to after a few months on it. Couold help and lead to a great inspirational tool.

Hope that helps,
Phill

Maybe your johnson was hanging out and it made her feel “funny”?

High blood pressure is a definite possibility. Is she fair skinned as I’ve notice fair skinned people tend to blush easier. I’m gonna assume that she’s not taking niacin for any reason. I for one am fairly tan, but when I’m straining my balls of my face will turn very red and my eyes get blood shot.

Leg lifts (on a bed no less) probably lend themselves to a lot of beat-redness. After all, your head is low and your legs are helping to push blood towards it. As long as she’s breathing regularly, I’d say she’s good to go.

Thank you for your help. Phill, I didn’t even think about my future-mother-in-law’s breathing. The next time she does any exercise I’ll stress to focus on proper breathing. Wideguy, I’m do think her blood pressure is a little high. I’m thinking it might be good to check it at intervals during her workout. Again, thanks for you help.
