Beer Choice for Summer Concert

Ok, so I’ve been only slightly agonizing about this the past week, and I could use some good suggestions. Tomorrow night is a summer country concert (NC) with the gf and her friends, and obviously I don’t want to be sipping on those gross girly drinks all night.

That being said, I don’t wanna get schwasted, but wanna get a nice solid buzz going and I want beer. So, should I just go for the cheap stuff, or go for something a bit nicer that I’ll actually sit back and enjoy during the tailgaiting session?

So remember: it’ll be damn hot (95+), plenty of grill food, and chicks.

Suggestions welcome

Budweiser.

In before the beer snobs!

Nothing wrong with Diesel Nards. Budweiser is a solid choice.

Bud Light, however, sucks donkey balls.

I’ve always enjoyed a cold PBR when tailgating. It’s cheap, it’s light, it’s refreshing, it’ll get the job done. Plus it tastes pretty good.

Polo I have to disagree completely, PBR is a pilsner, pilsners are going to hit you harder than a standard “light” beer. My local brewery does a pilsner named Utica Club, don’t get me wrong, it’s awsome, I love it, but a long hot day requires a different approach.

My number 1 choice for out in the sun is always Corona with lime. You could go corona light if you want. Some people don’t like corona and sometimes keeping a lime handy is not an option (cut it up ahead of time and put it in a little tupperware in your cooler duh).

Bud light is fine, to be honest, any of the light beers are fine, just depends on your favorite taste. Some people like miller light, some like michalobe, some like the silver bullet etc… Whatever, light beer is light beer, I don’t care what the commercials making fun of man purses and man lower back tattoos say.

Another good choice would be a belguim white. Something like Blue moon. It’s nice on it’s own and if you like it with an orange slice do the same trick as with the lime. We have some breweries here in NY that do quite a variety of belgium whites, they generally do different berries in them, like strawberry blonde, Blackberry white, etc…

You could go to your local beverage distributor and see what they carry. If they don’t sell directly to the public, they could tell you who carries what brands.

I always thought Yeungling offered the best bang for your buck out of all the American beers I’ve tried.

Except you cant find it in a lot of places in America. Being from NE I’ve always loved Sam Summer for tailgating/outdoor fun along with Coors original.

PBR?

Is this a hipster concert?

I like Rolling Rock or Budwieser for concerts or fireworks… Basically anything away from home and outdoors in warm weather.

I fucking hate Rolling Rock …

Fuck off about PBR being a hipster beer, it’s cheap and I like FROM TIME TO TIME … ya big meany

Haha, I used to drink it all the time. But it’s true it has become a hipster beer, so much so that everyone charges more for it now then they used to. The days of $.75 PBRs are gone because shit is just so ironic now.

Mexican beers work for the heat, Corona and Pacifico. Trader Jose’s (at Trader Joes, seriously) is a good deal.

it might have been that long since I’ve actually bought some PBR that I still thought it was $.75 . huh

Polo?

or… Polo?

Henry Weinhard is pretty decent

I don’t always drink beer. But, when I do, I drink Dos Equis.

Stay thirsty, my friends.

Brad, do you actually think I’d be a smelly hippy?

^^This, & I hate to say it … but binky is right. Ice cold Corona in the heat does the body good. With no lime or salt for obvious reasons.

If you were to ask me this question when I first woke up this morning I’d have said “oh fuck no.”

But now? My whole view is upside down and backwards.

Na dude just bustin’ your chops. I still hold firm on Rolling Rock though, it’s fine by me. Cheap too.
