Beer Choice for Summer Concert

Good suggestions so far. I’m a fan of BudHEAVY, actually haven’t had PBR oddly enough. While I think Corona is great for outdoors in the summer, I’ve gotten kinda bored with its taste…but on that same note, I think a top contender at this point may be Landshark (Jimmy Buffet’s beer), which is basically corona but a little more sweet and no need for a lime in it.

I love beer, and there’re just too many damn choices, especially at Harris Teeter

Agreed, PBR is the shit. Much better than Miller Lite and the like. If you associate PBR with hipsters, you don’t know what you are talking about and probably saw one hipster with it and made up your mind (as you can tell, I took offense to this statement, haha).

But in all honesty, if I were you OP I’d just get a couple different six packs (or just one) of an IPA.

I remember a beer a neighbor used to bring back over the border. It was Michelob I think and it had a gold cap wrapped in foil. Does this sound familier to anyone? It was so good ice cold.

Whatever your taste, remember for outside with a crowd of people like a concert Cans beat bottles hand down. You don’t want to travel with a cooler full of glass with large crowds just a pain and cans can be crushed and chucked.

Holy moley!

RR is a good beer!

Miller high life is a good beer as well for hot summer days.

PBR is great too. I don’t understand this “hipster” stigma attached to it. Hipsters drink Corona, Becks, Heineken, etc… generally overpriced and overrated beers.

Pacifico is horrible stuff. But that’s because I had a particularly nasty experience with it when I drank like 30 of them one night. The hangover I had for the next day and a half made me want to kill myself. Now whenever I even see one, I get all sick to my stomach.

But for summer concert beer, you can’t go wrong with a Bud.

I second this sentiment.

I forgot about Modello Especial. GREAT hot summer day drinking beer. Goes great with just about any food too, burgers, ribs, chicken.

FUCK. I want a beer now.

If you can find it: Hacker-Pshorr, Munic Gold… there is no smoother beer on earth.

the thing is I used to really like RR. Then, for about a year, I got nothing but shit RR’s everytime I ordered one. Now, I’m conditioned to hate RR

Hot = Drink Corona

Cold out = Drink Guiness

haterz?

Guiness is probably my new favorite beer…just not so much for the heat…and it’s kinda pricey

No love in here for Coors light/original? Whaaaat?!?! CODE BLUE FTW!!!

.greg.

I’m pretty much a local brewery snob anymore, although I will probably try an IPA from anywhere.

I love New Belgium and Oskar Blues, two Colorado micros that can some (or all) of their beers.

New Belgium cans Fat Tire (classic sweet ale), Sunshine Wheat, and Ranger (IPA). Oskar Blues cans everything, and I really love their Dale’s Pale Ale as a nice summer beer.

I would be cautious about drinking IPAs in the sun, as they frequently have a higher ABV than you might want. Stick with the fizzy yellow water, I suppose.

Are you advising this young man to drink his own piss?

Not cool.

Get franziskaner. Its the best summer beer there is.

Lots of water beer fans here. My go to, all purpose, beer is Yeungling lager of black & tan. Plus it comes in cans and its a real American beer. I refuse to drink anything made by Bush (now owned by the Belgians). I let a few things by Miller/Coors slide (now owned by a South African company).

If you’re an IPA fan try to get a hold of Victory Hopdevil, but anything by Dogfish, Stone, or Rouge are quality.

If you enjoy a carbonated water with a hint of beer enjoy your coors/miller/bud/corona light. And calling PBR a pils is like calling my piss hefeweizen.

Make the pilgrimage the Brussels have a Chamay Grand Reserve and an Orval. Then swing by Germany, head to Bamberg and have a Schlenkerla Rauchbeir, a Fassla Zwergla, and a Mahr’s Bock Weizen. It will change your life.

fwiw i bought a case of diesels at dominicks for $11.88 with a preferred card so if you have a preferred card at dominicks go load up on diesels

If it’s a real country concert, you are required to drink Shiner Bock.

I always thought Yeungling offered the best bang for your buck out of all the American beers I’ve tried.
Except you cant find it in a lot of places in America. Being from NE I’ve always loved Sam Summer for tailgating/outdoor fun along with Coors original.
Being that the OP is in NC he will zero problem finding himself some Yeung. Another good beer for a hot day it Magic Hat #9. Now that can be hard to find.

Oh and Fat Tire. Have a few FT’s and the switch to Yeungling, the FT make it takes like Bannans
