Im going to run the BBS 3-Month Challenge does anybody have any recommendations or any comments that have ran it?
I ran the BBS challenge from November to January, and ended up writing a full review of the program on reddit.
Only thing I would say other than what I wrote there is that, since the first cycle (60%) is relatively easy, make sure you really focus on bar speed. Also, I would try keeping rest times relatively short (not so short you’re trying to turn it into a conditioning session though), and superset the 10x5 with an assistance lift. Getting every workout done in under an hour is definitely possible.
I absolutely loved the challenge, and will be running it again as soon as I finish my current anchor. Good luck with it!
I have sort of run it. I did BBS for my squat, deadlift, and bench press at the same time. Ran BBB for the press. I would recommend it as it is a good opportunity to see which of your lifts respond well to it, and the slow buildup means your almost certainly going to be setting some big PR’s.
I found that my deadlift responded to it very well in particular.
I would echo the other post, try keep rest times shorter on your supplemental. Around 2 minutes maybe. If your waiting too long the session can start to drag.
Make sure your TM is a solid 85%. If its not you will regret it.
Be prepared to be bored for the next 2-3 months. Its not called Boring But Strong for nothing, but when you get through it you will enjoy the phase of setting PR’s.
