i figured it was Pete showing off. I’ve always wondered what Pete kept in his garage… now i know.

You should see what he keeps in his closet.
Steve, you said you wouldn’t tell anyone about my Ricky Martin pictures. So what if I want to live the Vida Loca…
I thought the pictures were George Michael.

KMC,Rug and Harry, thanks for reading. I only have one more high rep squat goal then its back to low reps for a bit.

4/7

5/3/1 75%,85%,95% week
1.cgb fat bar 219x5,249x3,279x7
2a.bb rows 225x5x6 sets
2b.cgb fat bar 199x10x5 sets

I’m either getting old, out of shape or both because I’m still tired from Mondays squat workout. This coming Fridays deadlift workout may have to wait until Sat or Sun.

Lessee, 405x10 for 6 sets is 24,300 lbs moved around in a very short period time. You earned your tiredness. 50-60 reps of any lower body stuff above 50% of 1RM will lay you in the dirt in short order.

Such has been my experience anyways.

DCA, that’s too funny. I had my calculator out and then saw your post.

Holy… shit… 60 reps at 405… I feel like I need to step it up too… that is some inspiration right there buddy, thanks!

5/3/1 week is a bear if you are setting the calcs right. My last cycle felt like Conan at the grinding wheel.

Thanks guys.

deadlift : worked up to 555xalmost…next time

Deads are stuck. I’m switching back to deads every other week. Seems to work better for me.

outdoor workout
stone carries, sled drag, tire flip, overhead stone carries

Worked up a good sweat and was plenty tired.

I’m skipping next weeks de-load and trying something different with the 5/3/1 workout. Weekdays combine squat and bench for a workout then deads/zecher and MP for another. On the weekends I want to get outside for workouts. Try it and see what happens.

Deads and legs work good for me. Like all the strongman stuff you’re doing. Reminds a lot of some of the stuff daddyzombie use to do.

I seriously envy the strongman type work you are doing. I can do sled pulls and whellbarrow stuff but my neighborhoon assoc. would freak over having tires amd other goodies in the yard.

my wife won’t let me have any yard toys either. I have to keep them in my car and use them at the park.

and what every happened to our daddy zombie anyway

I live in the woods so I can hide my outdoor workout toys. I need to come up with more structured workouts though. I have a few in mind.

A lot of great guys like DZ have vanished. DZ was king of the outdoor workout.

warm-up
2 rounds of complex with 95 lbs

workout
1a.squat 325x5,375x5,425x5,515x3
1b.cgb 195x5,225x5,255x12,315x4
2a.front squat 225 5x5
2b.chins BW 5x5

The warm-up complexes made my low back spasm. I’m dropping that as a warm-up. Overall a good workout.

I’ll say that’s a nice workout! Squats: 515x3 and CGB: 315x4!

Your legs must be getting either really ripped or really huge.

Great work, Steve! You may want more structure, but it looks kick ass to me.

You live in the woods as in you can’t see your neighbors? Or big lot suburbia?

George, I feel like things are moving in the right direction again. I haven’t used these kind of weights for awhile.

Harry, you can start calling me Tom. (Platz)

Skip, the neighborhood I live in (New Boston, NH) has lot sizes ranging 2 to 26 acres (I have 2.5). I can see some of my neighbors but we have space (and trees) between us.

far enough away that you don’t have to hear them, close enough to draw a bead on if you can hear them

Nice work, Tom, that is some kick-ass work.

yeah… that’s some awesome lifting hoss!! i envy your living space. i live in a neighborhood with houses right next to each other. luckily i have a detached garage to do all my manly stuff in. my father, on the other hand, has about 50 acres. on the weekends i’ll ride my Harley up to his house and we take his old International Scout down to the shooting ranges we’ve built. We hav pistol, rifle and shot gun ranges set up. It’s tons of fun. we’ve made swiveling flags to shoot at, body shaped plate steel targets and different targets at different yard markers. We typically shoot .22 pistols for practice but i really love breaking out the .40 cal and .357. do any shoot’n steve??
