BBB:Big, Bald and Beautiful

Good idea, I suggest beer and brats…

Thanks Wilson. I could barely walk saturday afternoon but I feel 90% better today.

Joe,I think you’re onto something. You sound like you know what you’re talking about. I’ll try it.

Strong work Steve - very impressve!

Thanks Tony. Not as impressive as your strength to BW ratio but I’m trying. I did the workout I had to skip yesterday. Now I’m in true de-load mode.

10/4
1a.bench 265x5,300x3,335x5
1b.pulldowns buch of sets
2a.cgb 275x5,5,5
2b.pulldowns

10/7
1a.front squat 145x5,175x5,210x5
1b.MP 95x5,115x5,135x5
2a.chins BWx3,3,3
2b.push upBWx8,8,8
2c.rev lunge barx5,5,5(each leg)

Don’t know what all the hate on de-loads is about. I enjoyed this workout. Short and easy.

You still going to do all the weird stuff with rocks, or is that on hold until the meet i done? In any event I wish you good results at the meet.

No deload hating - Just wish we didn’t have to do it.
Nice work.
Ever try a lacrosse ball for rolling out those pesky sore spots? I picked up a pack of three the other day and have a new appreciation for lacrosse.

I wouldn’t hate deloads if they included front squats at 210 x 5.

Actually, I don’t do deloads.

Weird stuff??What are you saying?? Just on hold until after the meet.

The lacrosse ball helps my middle back but not the low back. Its still a little messed up. Feels like a hot needle piercing the skin in one spot.

I’ve never de-loaded for real either until this week. Feels good.

10/9
1a.bench 135x5,175x5,210x5
1b.reverse bench 135x5,15x5,210x5
1c.deadlift 205x5,255x5,305x5
2a.chins 3x3
2b.pushup 8x3
2c.legcurl 100x3x3

I went over to a buddies to watch football last weekend, and he had one of those tables that you lay on and lock your feet into and then it rotates you upside down. Man, o man, what a good stretch. I am not sure how it would be for an injury, but my back hasn’t felt that good in a while.

Your training looks great, even with a back tweak.

Enjoy the deload. Didn’t you go around 405 at the bench meet you did a while back? So that and a 600 dead will get you over the 1000 you’re after. No problem, easy, piece of cake, walk in the park, light weight, nothing but a peanut, in the bag, etc. (cliches come easy when you’re not the one having to do it.)

Jack, that table sounds great. Glad your back is feeling good. I’m 99% better.

Harry,I benched 405 last meet. I’d be happy to put that up again with a 600 deadlift. Like you said,‘piece of cake’.

I apologize for not keeping up with everyones threads. Work has been busy and my kids schedules are crazy. I’ve barely fit in workouts. I’m sure you’ve all been getting stronger.

10/11
front squat 235x5,275x5,305x5
ab roll 5 sets
reverse lunge 95 5x5 each leg

I narrowed my front squat stance and found it much more comfortable. No knee or back pain at all. My balance was much better with the lunges.

Nice front squating. 305x5 = powerful.

Thanks Scott. Front squats are starting to click.

The in-law apt is now finished. So with my 70 year old father-in-law we move 132 boxes from my basement upstairs through my house into the garage and up to their second story apt. I must have walked 100 flights. My legs already ached from yesterdays workout so I’m toasted. Two Beam and cokes later and I’m feeling pretty good.

looking good over here Steve. I am envious of your ability to have a busy life and fit in satisfactory training. So envious I am going to mimic you and build a home gym, to train in on those days that don’t require 15 friends to be present:)

Pete,my first home gym had a swing for the kids hanging from the rafters. They were both really little. I’d give a good push and do a set. When I was done the set it would be time for another push. They grow up so quickly. Especially after I’ve had several stiff drinks. You and the family will love the home gym. More family time.

1a. bench235x5,275x5,315x5,295x5,5,5
1b. chinups x a lot

It looks like the Dec 5 meet has been cancelled. The guy’s business who sponsers the meet has gone under and his cell phone number given on the site has been disconnected. Training all for naught.

That just sucks. Maybe another one will come up soon.

it’s never all for naught. you got stronger.

LIAR! I know your name is Vanessa.
