BBB:Big, Bald and Beautiful

I’ve paced it off at 30 yards. The bottom half is not very steep but the second half is really steep. The first 5 I was ok and kept moving from sprint to walk back down to sprint, etc. But from 6-10 I had to take a little more time between sprints. My yellow lab was my running partner yesterday. He followed me the entire time. I think he was laughing at me.

Great work, Steve. I have very bad memories of doing hill sprints, from back in HS.

Man’s best friend…always happy to be there, work or play.

Thanks Mr Skip. (glory days story coming) Back in the day I was really fit-8 mile runs,30 pullups, etc, etc. So I actually liked hill sprints in HS football. I still remember the hill at Memorial Field in Concord,NH. Run up,jog down, get back in line, repeat. Trying to learn to like them again.

Steve, I was never that fit. But definitely moreso that I am now.

How big were you, back in the day?

5’9’',185-190 lbs
Closest I ever came to benching twice my weight was on my 18th birthday I benched 350 and weighed 187lbs. Never come that close again I’m sure.

Ah yes, nothing like the company of a good doggie. Mine likes to watch me from the window when I’m doing my cardio. Prolly thinking “What a dumbass. Out there sweating and breathing hard when he should be in here petting me.” She can be demanding that way. Good lookin squat numbers too.

Good looking squats! I’d almost kill someone for a 450 squat!

fitness doesn’t matter with a squat like that

USN42,dogs are definitely mans best friend. My yellow lab is addicted to tennis balls. He wants that ball more then food, other dogs and people. He will chase the ball until he drops. I’ve thrown it with a lacrosse stick for an hour straight and he’s still going strong. I stop because I’m afraid he’ll just drop dead.

Schmidt, thank you sir for the kind comment. But 450 is only worth injuring someone. Now 550. Thats worth a kill.

MJ,I wish that were true. But the conditioning must continue unfortunately.

8/20

Some kind of conditioning tomorrow.

looking good over here my hair deficient brother…

Nice work, on everything.

nice work -strong front squats.

Dan John wrote an article that describes something I did in college- allot

front squat
run 400m

we did it 4x

I forget how he prescribes it but described
a hammer thrower doing it with 400 or more.

Litinov. Awesome shot putter. He would front sqaut 395x8 then sprint 40 yds. 3-5 times.

good work here ECO.

Yeah, we’ll plan on seeing something like this from you tomorrow since it’s your conditioning day.

Yeah, yeah - what snapper said! go for it eco!

Thank you boys and girl. I’d try the front squat thing but I don’t have a rack outside and I don’t want to have a heart attack. So here is the disappointing workout:

8/21
1.sled (tire) drag
2.hill sprints

I put a couple 2x6 boards in my tire and threw a rock in for extra fun.

since i dropped conditioning work to gain a training day, i’m going to come over here and read about yours. i’m sure it’s the same as actually doing it…right??

I’ll run a couple hills for you.

Just got back from Foxwoods casino. Won 500 on the 1-2 no limit holdem table. I’m 41 tomorrow. Going to do deads and maybe sprints.
