Nice work, Steve. That’s a lot of MPs.
Looks like you and the axle are getting along well.[/quote]
Thanks Skip. I have no idea if the fatter bar does anything. Just feels cool to use.

And that is what matters! If it is fun, you will definitely keep doing it…
I’m now on a forced de-load. Last saturday I think the rock carrying pulled some muscle(s) in my left oblique area. Any twisting or getting up motions hurts like a bitch. A couple more days off should do the trick.
I’m stealing an idea from Meat and Wendler. Two days of weights a week and conditioning. If those two are doing it it must be a good idea.
7/24
BW workout
1a.chins 5 reps
1b.squat 20 reps
1c.push ups 10 reps
1d.plyo jumps 10 reps
1e.punching bag 50-100 punches
1f.bike 3 minutes
3 rounds
2a.chins 5 reps
2b.ghr 12 reps
2c.burpe 5 reps
2d.dips 10 reps
3 rounds
My left side is feeling much better. Dropping down to two days a week lifting and 1-3 days conditioning(sprints,BW exercises, sled drag, dynamic stretching, etc) next week. Like I said before if its working for Meat and Wendler I want to try it.
Nice. That looks like a lot of good conditioning.
Thanks Jack.Got my heart rate up.

Just decided to do more plyos myself. Are you jumping from a box to the ground up to another box? If so, how high? Your workouts are looking really enjoyable.

Just plain old jumps from the ground with no rest between jumps. The workout have been ‘fun’.
Those plyos look like they’d whip you into shape pretty quickly.
Its looks like a very good mix of conditioning with the heavy stuff. How do you feel? I bet pretty good. Training looks great.
Joe,I hope the BW stuff helps with conditioning and flexibility. The burpees really showed me how stiff I am.
Jack,I felt good after the BW stuff. But I feel like someone beat me up from the deadlift/squat/farmer walk workout. It must be funny watching me get out of a chair. I almost need a spot to get up.
everyone with the fancy poem thread names. I think I’ll call mine “here I sit, broken hearted”

I couldn’t let Harry have the only ‘deep thought’ thread title.

No dripping yet but I’m still only 40. Maybe in a couple years I’ll need that urologist’s name.

I wasn’t thinking age related so much as indiscretion related; as in catching the clap. Maybe we’re all too old for that now. Or far too sensible ![]()

1b.chin ups BWx5,+25x5,+50x4,+25x5 BWx5,5

Tried Fischers 80%x5x3 sets after 5/3/1. Worked well. Thanks.
Anyone use the thumbless grip with MP? I tried it last night and found I liked it more then my regular thumbed grip. Just feels a little more ‘dangerous’ without my thumbs around the bar. I was happy with my chinups(palms towards). The BW+50 is around 310 lbs. Now I need to throw more pullups(palms away)in the mix.
