BBB:Big, Bald and Beautiful

20 all at once? Not like 2,2,2,2,2, etc. Very good. MPs looking really good, too. I think after this season I need to hit my upper back. You’ve inspired me.
A man limps into a bar and says…(lame humor)

we’ve been planning a trip to the drive in as well. I like to put lounge chairs in the back of my F250 and beer in the tool box. now that’s redneck for yeah.

awesome training here steve. i can’t imagine doing all those pullups at once. mine have been slacking lately since i’ve been focusing on my front squat and reverse grip bench.

overhead pressing is coming along nicely as well.

Got a good pump in then started doing stuff around the house I meant to do all week during vacation but never got to.[/quote]

Shouldn’t that be more along the lines of “got a good pump and went to the beach to show off the guns”?

That’s a lot of chins.

Thanks all. Drive-ins are a must once a year. I could show off my guns, gut and my shaved back at the beach. Going to rep out chins my next workout.

hill sprints
1.sprint short distance
2.sprint medium distance
3.sprint longest distance (new)
4.walk
3 rounds

I changed my previous long sprint to medium and added a longer sprint to the mix.

Nothing like a little G.P.P (Going to Puke Plenty)

1b. chin ups BWx10,9,8,7,6,5
2a. axle cgb 205 10x5 sets
2b. seated db cleans 5 sets

Everything aches today but my father-in-law and both sons wanted to workout. My oldest did mostly MP and box squats holding dbs. My youngest did dips and leg raises on the dip machine.

Great work, Steve. And even better job getting in there for the father-in-law and kids.

Thanks Skip. I should have taken the night off. Deads two nights ago and sprinting last night sucked the life out of me. I can’t sleep because my knees and abs ache so much I can’t get comfortable.

I really like the stuff you have going on here with the family. Very cool. Looks like you have the kids doing smart stuff for their age/ability. Now, for you, why not do the sprints right after the deads? that is the way I am working my conditioning in, really focusing it in after my two lower and my bigger bench day, mainly because then I can actually let the guy who owns the prowler use the prowler. really seems to keep my recovery on track. plus then you shouldn’t need as much assistance work for lower, since the sprinting is taking care of all those quick fire muscle fibers anyway. Just a thought…

Good family time. Like the fact your oldest just doesn’t want to do “curls for the girls”. Learnin them younguns right.

Pete, you’re completely correct. I should do the sprints after deads. But I’m totally winging it right now. I’ll get more serious about getting strong again in the fall.

Harry,my oldest loves MP. If I let him that’s all he would do. My youngest is all about getting his ‘abs’ to stick out. He keeps asking if he has a 6 pack.

Hand him some Sam Adams and tell him ‘Now you have a 6pack.’ The only kind that matters, anyway. :>

It sounds like you got some fun training going on. And your oldest is intuitive–what better test of real strength is there than how much weight you can press over your head?

7/17
axle cleans 105x3,155x2,175x1,205x0,175x1
regular bar cleans 225x1 (easy)
squats 365x3,415x3,470x3
front squat 135x10,225x5,275x5,315x5,225x5
calf raises 3 sets

stone carries

Axle cleans are much more difficult then regular bar cleans.

Rug,gonna work on a couple 6 packs tonight playing poker at the neighbors.

Jack,I’m glad he likes MP more then curls and bench. Going to have him do MP and box squats tomorrow. If my youngest is into it I’ll try and have him do the same.

i am so jealous i don’t really have anything to say. i wish i was you. or had you as a training partner

Always room for one more. But we’d most likely just end up eating and drinking to much.

And that would be a problem why?

Nice work, Steve. That’s a lot of MPs.
Looks like you and the axle are getting along well.
