Nice workouts in here. One day I’d like to try these axle lifts (anything like this reminds me of strongman workouts - which I envy).
Pete, just mixing it up.Plus the kids were being pains in the ass and I wanted to get out of the house.
Skip, there are some rules that need not be spoken. Don’t make us look like white trash is one of them in my household.
Scott,my axle is just a 7’ pipe I bought at home depot. I took a 2.5 lb plate with me to get the right width pipe.I used my extra collars for stops on the bar but I imagine duct tape could work.Cheap and fun changeup to your workout.

Steve, thats a great idea. I need to do this and carry it to the gym… Think I would raise some eyebrows? Great training!
Wilson, fat gripz may be the way to go at a gym.People would definitely give you the stare if you walked in with a 7’ pipe.
I need to catch up with everyone next week when I get back to work. Going to the drive-ins tonight. Toy story 3 and Grownups are playing.
7/9

I’m actually building some stamina. It just blows were having record heat. The last few days have been btw 90-98 degrees.Today there was a little breeze which was much appreciated.
Just rolled in from the drive-ins.Had a great time. I highly recommend going. Bring chairs and a radio and sit outside. More enjoyable then sitting in the car.
Toy Story 3: 2 thumbs up
Grownups: wait for the DVD

Drive-ins. Those were the days. There used to be on by my house when I was a kid. Pack the car with friends and beer, get drunk, try to get laid. Never was very successfull at getting laid. Getting drunk was so much easier.

Now there are none by our houses. We pack the car with our own kids, soda and candy. Getting laid and drunk don’t even enter our minds going to the drive-ins now.
There are drive-ins in NH?
I’m move-in there. You would think there would be a drive in or two in TX but not that I’ve found.
BTW - just tween friends, your axle is a little white trashy, but its fricken cool.
If you got a Home Depot credit card like me, you are definitely white trashy,
just accept it and move on.
OP,just one drive-in left around here. It does quite well. Always full. I have a home depot gift card. Does that count?
Haha. We have a few drive-ins left around here. The family and I go at least 2 or 3 times in the summer. 20 bucks for my wife and I, and nothing for the kids. I load up and bring all the food & drink I want. There really should be more around.

Same price here. 20 dollars for a car load. Good experience for the kids too.
7/11
1a.MP 135x10,155x10,175x10,155x10,135x10
1b.chin ips BWx5,6,7,8,7,5,5
Got a good pump in then started doing stuff around the house I meant to do all week during vacation but never got to.
Perfect pyramid on the MPs, my non-grit-eating friend. The Egyptians would be proud.
I would say the same about the chins, but set 6 should have been 6 reps. Was that a typo? ![]()

Don’t know why but I laughed at the Egypt joke.
No typo. I just got sick of doing chins and I try not to lie to often. Or is that a lie?

Yeah…I am full of cheesy/poor jokes today. Must have something to do with the 3 hours of sleep that I got.
One day I will do 10x175 on milies…one day far in the future.
Nice pressing.
One day I will have BW chins in a pyramid like that.
Thanks guys.
Skip,I’m king of lame humor.
Joe,thanks for the kind words.Your MP is darn good.
USN42,I’ve been doing chins every upper body workout and they keep getting better.I hope to do 20 soon.
7/13
semi-sumo deads 345x3,390x3,440x5
ab roll outs 225x8,6,6,5,5
axle regulars deads 255 10x5sets
20 chins? Wow, that would be great. Nice pulling as well.
chins, in my experience, are a great exercise when dieting. simply because if you are maintaining strength even, your numbers go up as your weight drops. 2 years ago at 255 I managed 21 reps. Literally, it was 2 years ago almost to the date, I was so elated I don’t even have to go back in my log to look. How geeky is that?
