BBB:Big, Bald and Beautiful

Thanks Jack.

Rick,I lift rocks and like Wendlers big but boring workout. I’m a simple kind of man. Sounds like a good song. Been low carb everyday. Trying to eat eggs, meat and vegies mostly. I take a multi vit, glucosamine, vit D everyday. I keep meaning to start taking fish oil.

Good work here Steve. I am sorry but also releived that you are on his side and behind him. The weight loss thingy hurts a little in the gym-- the secret to not losing strength is to lose it slooooooow. I drop 3-4 pds a month then stay for a month and just try too keep my numbers the same, after 6 months you are down 20 pds and same strength.

How many days are low carbs ? High carbs?

Do you have your macronutrients figured out? Supplements?

I can help if you want.
I’m the exact opposite, if I do short but brutal cuts I can drop around 10lbs in 4-6 weeks on nothing but protein and my strength stays fine. But if I do it slowly for long periods it all goes tits up.

Lot of cool stuff in here, rockstar.

hope your dad feels healthy.

Joe, whatever works. I’m more in line to what you do Joe.

Kevin, thanks for the new name of my thread and well wishes for my dad.

How you enjoying the Axel?

BD,glad I’m getting the axle back out.Thanks

If you haven’t seen axle cleans you’ve got to check them out on youtube. Start with a mixed grip and switch to double overhand half way through the lift. Not easy.

Thanks SD. I’m skinny like a marathon runner now.

Scott, the old man has lost 55 lbs in a 2-3 month period. 240 down to 185. All his numbers are great right now but he waited to long to see a doc so a lot of damage has been done. He’s 61 and hadn’t been to a doc since he was in his teens. Not a wise choice.

I had one of those ‘feeling like a man’ moments last night. My next door neighbor was over and asked my wife what we were going to do with the rocks I had collected from the foundation hole. She tells him we’re going to use them for decoration/rock garden. He says, ‘how are you going to move them? The big one is like 400 lbs.’

My wife points to me. He says no way. Of course now I have to get down there pick the thing up an walk off with it. Prompting a ‘there’s something wrong with you’ response from him.
Shock and Awe. Shock and Awe. Don’t you just love when your spouse puts you on the spot!!!

BD,my hands are just big enough for the axle cleans. After watching the guys on youtube axle clean 300-400 lbs I feel like a pussy not getting 195 lbs.Keep working at it.

Rug,I got called out and had to perform.I would have felt wimpy if I didn’t lift the damn rock.

now that tony has gotten all boring with the thread title, you are the new title whore. congratulations!

there are far to few opportunities for feats of strength in our world. yours was awesome

Thanks all.

You guys keep coming up with new toys. Now I want to try axle cleans. Wasn’t it Paul Anderson cleaned and pressed a train axle or something similar. You really seem to be enjoying your work outs lately. Good on ya.

Great work, Steve. The chinups are as impressive as the axle work. Fishing sounds like a great way to recover. And the skeeters are really bad here as well.

DAMMIT!! I stayed away too long. Now I have to figure out what all this axel stuff is! Great work Steve!

Axel: gotta look that up too…

Good luck on weight loss…
Please let us know how you feel… And what you think helps you maintain your conditioning…

nice work…

axle cleans, hmmm

what does your yard look like?

12 hill sprints (small hill,big hill,walk small hill,repeat 4 times)

cleans 135x5,185x3,225x2,225x1,185x2,185x2
squats 315x3,365x3,405x3
front squat 225x5,5
zercher squats 225x5,5

On vacation this week so the diet has been shakey. Sprints fried my legs before I got to the basement. My yard toys are all hidden on my back hill. No visual effect on my yard from them.
My 14 year old nephew was complaining he doesn’t have a rack so he can’t squat. So I showed him zerchers and cleans into front squats. He was pumped and did them the entire time I worked out.

good work. why not sprint after squats? That’s the way I would do it. Just saying.

Great work, Steve. I am really suffering from workout partner envy.

Has your wife warned you not to destroy the yard with your playtoys?
