BBB:Big, Bald and Beautiful

I was tanked the other night so I apologize for any drunken babble. Drank 1/2 bottle of tequila.

6/13
deadlift 500x1,1,1 405x1,1,1,1,1 (20-30 sec rest btw sets)
zercher 225x5x5
planks 2 sets 1 min, 30 sec
homemade rock lift 145x1,1 190x1,1

For the homemade rock I unscrewed and removed the fat end of an olympic bar. Then put 45’s on, the big collar and lifted.

Stopping at a half bottle shows great discipline.

Of course, if you are anything like me, after 1/2 a bottle of tequila you are either in the corner, crying, or in the yard, trying to pick fights with the trees.

I don’t drink tequila

Great work, Steve. You never fail to inspire. Nor to broanden my view of what constitutes training.

Me too, but I can’t find any on television.

So, did you then consider the bottle half empty or half…oh, never mind. Really good pulls. Inventive use of a bar, too.

Takillya… You da man! good lifiting too!

So gonna kill that bottle this weekend?

If you don’t want to forever have your bar maimed, go to home depot, buy a 12" x 2" nipple and 2 floor flanges. Its nice if you have something you can use for spacers or washers to hold the plates in place. you can also use a 6" nipple which should hold 3 plates.

For the spacers, use pcs of 3" or 4" PVC pipe cut down into “slices” of 1" and 2".

screw on 1 floor flange, add plates, then spacer(s), then other floor flange.

I been thinking about this one for awhile, but I don’t have enough plates to bother with it yet.

you owe me a quarter for my awesome advice.

Just say no to tequila. That bottle is safe for awhile. Thanks for the building idea MJ.

I don’t like the incline cgb. I can’t touch my chest with the bar. ROM is to much. I kicked my ass with the high rep bb rows. I cheated with the last few reps. My biceps ache from the homemade rock lifts I did Sunday. Can’t remember the last time my bis ached.

nice training. I have my own language when drinking tequila… franishese… french, spanish and japanese combined. I also beome partial to paper boxes.

I quit tequila many, many years ago. Me and a group of ‘friends’ used to have ‘tequila wars’. Every one had to show up with a bottle of Jose. Apartments were trashed, brothers brawled, bones were broken, committed relationships dissolved, second or third story balconies puked over, police called, restraining orders placed, and eviction notices served due to these battles… then we’d get together again the next weekend, at someone else’s pad.

front squat 225x3,275x1,315x1

I had to stop because my right knee was killing me. Trying to make depth really pushes my IT band.

stones : several pickup and drops, several shouldering the rock,a couple rock carries

Wow, great work. A double at 545 is awesome, so is a triple at 495.

nice work Steve

Thanks boys. Skipping lacrosse practice tonight (son having a friend over) so I’m gonna drag the tire around. Maybe swing the sledge hammer as well. I haven’t done that for quite a while.

For an extra challenge, chain the tire to your belt, walk backwards and pound the tire with the sledgehammer as you go.

For added entertainment value, you can yell “OUT, Satan you Devil - OUT!” as you strike.

Sitting here laughing at the visual I’m getting. My wife may have me committed if I do this.

Thanks Mr Rug. I feel comfortable with the front squats now.

Yes shouting “Out you devil” as you drag the tire is the part that makes it hard. to really up the difficulty, it should be done in public park on a weekend.
