BBB:Big, Bald and Beautiful

Got the basement gym re-arranged. New bench fits into the rack. Saves a lot of space. Vacuumed and organized everything so it looks presentable. Oldest son turns 11 tomorrow. After all the festivities I’m going to give the new bench a workout. I put the first scratch on it tonight seeing how it feels. I don’t think the guy I got it from ever used it.

Thanks all. Been real busy at work. Sorry I haven’t hit to many threads lately. Extreme DOMS today. I can barely walk.
Foam roll and hot shower/epson salt bath with a good walk afterwards. will help.

Hey, how about doing 10x10 on the sqaut next week with 315
i did 315 x 10 x 3 last night on front squats and that was enough for me.

i couldn’t imagine doing another 7 sets without about an hour of rest between them.

Wow, 3 sets of 10!! Front squats are so much more difficult then deads I can’t even compair the two exercises. That amazing stuff Mr Meat.
you’re being modest. i’m sure you could easily get 10x3 on fronts with 315. the weight wasn’t bad, it was the core that got really fatigued. it all goes back to conditioning for me.

Just playing with front squats for the first time in quite a while, as a second ME/assistance lift. It really is all about the core and the ability to breath. This is one where I felt my smashed septum severely debilitates me from doing reps, period. So far 225 x 6 felt the same as 295 x 6. 295 got my abs a little more sore though. And I felt my quads starting to fire. But since I can’t really get air in any way when I have the bar smashed against my throat, 6 reps shut me down. My 2 cents for the day.

My training partner balances the bar across his front delts to do front squats. It’s really cool actually to see 315 balanced for ten reps. I been working on this with 135 but it feels akward as hell, lol

like this…

That’s exactly the speed and form I do my front squats with…at 135.

Yep I tired it and the bar rolled back against my neck and choked me out.

you’re a pretty big dude. i’m sure you can do them. when you raise your arms in front of you, there’s a gap between the front delt and collar bone. that’s where i put the bar. i just keep my arms up and the bar stays right there.

Lack of flexibilty can make it tough to keep from falling forward with front squats. Thats what I struggle with.

cgb 135x15,185x15,225x15,275x5,315x1

 1. chin up BWx5x4 sets
 2. push ups BWx10x45
 3. rev row BWx10x4
 4. dips BWx10x4

Made sure to do full ROM with push ups and dips. Extending as far as possible at the top of each. The new bench set inside the rack works real well. I couldn’t be happier with the new setup. Now I want to try and balance 5/3/1 with my outdoor workouts.

Never seen the front squats done with the arms outstretched. May be able to actually do those. Same thing as Colin always happens to me, choked. Oh, Steve, hi! You post in this thread, too? " push ups BWx10x45?" 10 sets of 45 or 45 sets of 10 or (2500)x45? Strong cgb. Sounds like your home gym set up is really coming along.

Post some photos. I wanna see the new weight cave! Great training!

Harry, I still post here sometimes. I miss typed. It was 4 sets of 10 with the push ups.

Wilson, thanks. I’ll get some pics eventually.

stone lifting and carrying.

Felt good getting squats and stone lifting in. I was able to stand up with my big stone tonight. Hoping to walk a distance with it soon. I didn’t have the drive to do 10x10 with 315 tonight. Sorry if I’ve let anyone down.

Hows the shoulder issue doing ? Sqauts look solid.

Oh well, I guess we’ll have to settle for 425x5.

Sheesh.

Yeah, slacker. :::)))) (that’s my smily face)

You know you are pushing real weight when Harry pulls out the internet smiley face.

Rick, the shoulder has been great. No issues at all. But I only cgb now. Thanks.

Tony, thanks for settling with my efforts.

Harry, not sure I’ve ever gotten a internet smiley face before. I feel all warm inside now. Thanks man.

Jack, smiley face = real weight. I didn’t know that. Thanks.

Oh no… we know where this thread goes when you get to feeling all warm and fuzzy inside…

Damn good squatting!

I’m going to stop in and say hellacious squatting and then get out before the group hug starts.

I have no idea what you guys are talking about.

I now have two lifting partners. My father-in-law and oldest son. The old man just wants to do the bowflex for upper body stuff and get the leg work from walking my very hilly neighborhood. I’ve set him up with 4 exercises for now. Give him more when he can do these with correct form. My oldest is now jogging 1/2 to 2 miles 4-7 days a week and doing MP,pushups, partial ROM dips,BW squats, planks, etc and hitting the punching bag. The deal with my son is every 1/2 mile jogged or 1/2 hour he works out he can play 15 minutes of video games. My private gym isn’t so private anymore.
