Bauber, what was your starting strength like? I.e when you first walked in a gym and the next 6 months or so. I know its obviously not gonna be one of those ‘‘I got stapled by 135lbs’’ stories, still really interested in hearing it though…
I really got into weights the summer before my junior year when a colleague of my dad who was an ex powerlifter got working with me. I had never been under a bench or squat rack etc at that point. I had just turned 16 at the time.
Anyways our first workout he assessed my strength in the big 3 lifts. I pressed 225 fairly easily. I pulled 315 and it was pretty light. I then squatted 225 with ease as he was more worried about form at that point, but just wanted a baseline.
March of the next year which was about 9 months from that point. I took the combine in bench with 28 reps at 225. Within a year I was pulling over 500. Pressing over 315 and squatting 405 with ease. So my natural base strength was pretty good. Higher than most I would assume.

Also, please take a vid next time you pull 655x9. That is superhuman.
Will do. I just have to remember before I start my deadlifts due to oxygen deprivation to my tiny brain.
I’m a huge fan of this log Bauber. Thanks for all the time you are putting into answering questions etc, it’s all so useful.

That’s incredible. You doubled my first attempt benching (110lbs aged 17) and almost doubled my squat (135lbs) haha.

Thanks brother glad to have you along.
Everyone starts somewhere =). It is what you do after that counts!
Will be heading to hit legs in about 40 mins. Will post up what I did later this evening.
The hunting has been very good so far this year. Have more deer meat put up in the fridge than ever. I also have stacked up 48 pounds of summer sausage.
