Great fighter…and I agree with you. People need to be more willing to just admit someone is good already. Don’t have to always tear people down.
Also a great fan. AS much for his personality as fighting ability.

IN BAS WE TRUST.

Thanks Chenzen…I always wondered what the connection between Bas and Genki was…any more info on that?
I love Bas Rutten, I want to be as awesome as him some day
Bas is the man. Does he still do the training seminars? I would jump at that.
I always thought he was really good.

Genki was studying film in the 90’s and trained at Beverly hills jiu-jitsu club. Genki can be seen in Bas’s corner and celebrating in the ring when Bas beat Randleman for the UFC heavyweight title .
Over at Bas’s site someone asked in one of the forums why Bas never entered any grappling tournaments he answered this …"My knees are bad and that’s why I can’t do it, it’s too bad, I would like to show the people that I am not just a striker. There is a list on my website with different ways I submitted opponents.
You can tell that I am defending myself on my submission game right? I don’t believe that Genki Sudo even submitted me and I trained him for three years, ask Carlos Newton and Alex Stiebling, Marco Ruas, Randy Couture, Mark Laimon, Frank Trigg, etc if I have a ground game"
Yea mark laimon praised bas’ ground game in an interview i posted here:
“Apparently the only way to kill a lion is by rear naked choke… Personally i would just kick it in the head” - Bas Rutten
