Oh, please tell me you used the following:

“I hope you have a big trunk… because I’m puttin’ my bike in it.”

And to think you didn’t even need a faux-hawk to score some…

Maybe I’ll shave my head… On second thought… maybe not.

So I must say, I’m pretty stoked, I only had 8 g’s of carbs yesterday. 5 came from a Coors Light and 3 came from one T of natural peanut butter that I added to one of my LCMD shakes. Everything else came in the form of green veggies, which I don’t really count as carbs.

As for my 10 day lead up to my race, all I had to yesterday was swim, which I did. I actually did the course and it was a little choppy because I went later in the morning after the wind had picked up.

Still, at a nice, easy pace I did the 1.5K loop in 32 minutes. Which is a good sign for me. I will do that loop twice more and really focus on my race speed which is hard to gauge. You can’t really get that jacked up for a training session as you can for when that horn blow’s, so I will have to push it a little harder tomorrow.

Today is pretty simple. Bike, run and gym. Not too bad.

Here is what I ate yesterday:

Meal 1:

4 large brown eggs
1 cerrano chilie
2 T flaxseed oil
2 chicken sausages
cooked in EVOO

Meal 2:

2 - 3 oz chicken breast (cooked in EVOO)
a shit load of romaine lettuce

Meal 3:
2 scoops of LCMD
1 T PB

Meal 4:
2 - 8 oz turkey burgers
8 oz steamed broccoli
1 coors light

Who’s winning so far?!

No idea, but I’m tempted to say that he’s ahead just because hes a wily fella, and because my weight jumped up about 5lbs yesterday despite eating the same thing as the day before.[/quote]

That happens to me as well, I just don’t get it sometimes. Good to hear your so close to the end.

Bartl,

At time of writing, China are leading the USA by one medal. Although that probably changes every hour or something.

But China have 22 Golds right now, 12 more then the USA.
If your not first, your last, right?

And before someone makes a wisecrack about GB, I can hold my hands up and say, we’re shit at everything!

Good luck guys!

8 days until the end of this wonderful competition, so I think that this is appropriate: - YouTube

Time to bust out a win and eat some cake.

Speaking of shit at everything, GB has at least won a medal. Us Canadians…we’re happy just to compete hahaha.

c’mon…your good at making tea!

So yesterday pretty much sucked training wise. My bike ride kicked ass, 18 miles in one hour, two minutes but the run afterwards was horrible. My knee’s, both now not just my left, were absolutely killing me. I had to stop my run just short of 6 miles. So I spent all day yesterday limping around.

I had to go and get some insoles for my shoes which helped more than I thought and I saw one of my doctor friends who did some electric stim and ultra sound on my lower IT band and did some ART on my calves (which hurt like hell by the way…). Got another session of full on ART on Monday.

So for now, its just bike, swim and some eleptical to try and build some strength back up on my VMO muscle.

I also swam today and was two minutes slower today. I guess with an average of 15 g of carb’s over the last two days is catching up with me.

My gym session was also super weak today.

Here is my “pull” session:

A1) 6x4 chins/pull ups - bodyweight
rest 90

B1) Bent Over Row - 4x6-8 – 155
B2) Chest supported Row - 4x8-10 – 90 lbs
rest 90

C1) Preacher Curl - 6x4 – bar + 30 lbs
rest 90

D1) Incline DB Curls with rotation - 4x6-8 – 22.5
D2) Reverse Grip BB Curl - 4x12-15 – 30 lbs
rest 90

Thursday’s Workout

A) Barbell Bench Press (135lbx15x11x9)

B)Rope Pushdowns
4x5 (50lbs - strict form)

C)Chin Ups
4x8 (Bodyweight)

D)Dumbbell Shoulder Press
3x10 (50lbs)

E) Hammer Curls
3x7 (40lbs)

Since the end of the summer semester is coming up in 4 days, my gym is going to be closed from Wednesday until September 3rd…awesome. My home equipment is limited, so I’m going to try and peak on Thursday night/Friday morning.

“By day 7 you WILL feel like shit. You will be completely drained and will be weak and lack energy. You will probably have mood swings.”

One Christian Thibaudeau said that during my clinic about current training/diet regimen. Well, its way more true this time than the last. I have zero energy and training is an excursion. The mood swings are also evident and the people around me have called me on it a couple times.

Good thing is I can tell the glycogen stores are getting depleted like they are supposed to. I am still only averaging about 17 g’s of carbs per day, well under 30 g max that the diet calls for.

Tuesday though, its on. I start adding carbs back into the mix. Hopefully my knee will be better so I can do a test run before my race.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

6 days and counting…

I still love you though Bartl. Maybe it’s because I’m not experiencing your mood swings, but much Canadian love is being sent your way

PS. It hurts to lift with stiches in your hand.

Alright folks, I need your help here.

My girlfriend has offered to take me out to dinner on Friday night since my birthday is Saturday. Since I’ll be taking my pictures and weighing in on Friday morning, I plan on, how do you say…pigging the fuck out - but I need your help in deciding.

  1. Damon’s - http://www.damons.com/

  2. Outback - http://www.outback.com/

  3. Red Lobster - Unauthorized Request Blocked

Edit - No more votes are being taken, as I just found out that the mother of all rib joints is within 20min of my apartment - Famous Daves!

Canada now have 9 medals. 2 Gold, 3 Silver and 4 Bronze. Not so shit after all. And team GB are now in 3rd place on medals table.

Bartl, we still don’t have the art of making tea down, we just now how to drink it! And take tea breaks 6 times a day!

Chris Rock - I’m gonna get you sucka!

So, last Monday I weighed in at 202.6

Today I weighed in at 194.2

fucking no carb diets

I don’t know if that was a good or bad emphasis on no carb diets - those are some number numbers lost for just 1 week!

You still shooting for 185?

A1)Single leg leg extension - 8x10 (55lbs right/10lbs left)
45sec rest

A2)Dumbbell RDL - 8x10 (50lbs dumbbells)
45sec rest

B1) Lat Pull Down - 8x10 (132lbs)
45sec rest

B2) Dumbbell Bench Press - 8x10 (50lb dumbbells)

C1) Seated Dumbbell Press - 2x10 (25lb dumbbells)

C2) Upright Row - 2x12 (20lbs + bar)

My face was severely rocked by this workout today, but you know what the worst part is? I have another one tomorrow, and Wednesday, and whatever I can do on Thursday. I stopped 4 sets short on the C superset because I was pretty much toast and was losing form, so I called it in so I wouldnt injure myself.

Just got done vegging out in front of the tv playing 4 hours of Metal Gear Solid 4, and I don’t feel lame at all!
