Bartl vs. Sayjin: A Fat Loss Challenge

So its been a while since I posted. Here are your choices:

A. I’ve been surfing quite a bit and been on the road driving looking for waves. Also, spent a lot of time soul searching and becoming one with the earth and my dog being a solitary man.

B. Training my ass of so much that I have no time during the day to want to do anything else. Man, triathlon training takes up a lot of time

C. pounding ass like its nobody’s business

D. Drinking and bbq’ing almost everyday, sprinkle in a little training (complexes) and working a shit load of hours in either of my 3 new jobs.

Let the games begin![/quote]

I’d guess, but it’s hardly fair… Clearly you are pounding ass like its nobody’s business. Such a ladies man you are heehee.

Seriously tho… what about E:

Drinking and bbq’ing almost everyday, sprinkle in a little training (complexes) and working a shit load of hours in either of my 3 new jobs in addition to my first job that I still have.

Since all two of my dedicated followers are both wrong, here is how you are both right:

I have been surfing, hanging with my dog, training, lifting, drinking, bbq’ing, working 3, soon to be 4 jobs, soul searching, reading books and of course…pounding ass.

Now excuse me…I am getting yelled at from the bedroom. This was supposed to be a “water break”…

Wow, you went from no job to 4 jobs pretty fast, unless you are counting your triathlon training as 3 jobs and your paid job as the fourth (or the first, however you want to say it).

Nice work, sounds like things are going well. Keep on keepin on!

so, did you reach any kind of decision on the EDT for your upper body.

I’ll come back and check for your answer in a few hours, since you’re busy slaying some ass right now.

Right now its only 3 jobs but I am trying to get a fourth. Here is the breakdown:

1 job at a winery (weekends only)
1 job bartending (trying to get a second and only at night during the week)
1 job as a production assistant for a movie producer (day job)

Will I be busy?

yup

Will I still find time to train?

yup. You have anyone that complains they have no time to train, have them look at my schedule and I will show them how to make time.

I am starting RepGasm today. I’m fired up!

Lately my knee has been feeling great. Ever since I got a cortizone shot, its been like a 180. I was walking my dog the other day and just started to jog for a spell and lo and behold, my knee didn’t hurt. So I made it a point to run yesterday. Here is how I did HIIT:

30 sec run (80% sprint)
4:30 walk
= 5 minute sets x 8 = 40 minutes

I wanted to start with Thibs HIIT training that he had me on last time becase A) it works, B) I’m comfortable with it and C) 30 seconds isn’t that hard but it gave me a good idea of where my knee is at.

And its really good. I had no pain yesterday at all while running and I was surprised by how good I felt. Today its a little sore but not like pain sore. Kind of like sore from not running for 2 months then running again. So I am very happy.

My run schedule will be as follows:

T/TH/Sat

For the Thursday session, I will go up to 60 second runs for 10 sets. From there I will play it by ear on the number of sets and length of the runs.

Also got a bike ride on Sunday.

My grundle is going to hurt.

I can’t believe I missed this!!! Shit man, good luck to both of you guys. Either way you will both be better for the healthy competition, and Chris’ humility about winning.

Have any of you guys tried the Bas Rutten Boxing/MMA workout cds?

No, but I have to say that I haven’t seen anyone as frightening yet funny as him in my life.

Glad to see you’re back in form Bartl, I thought you were ducking me for a second.

Saturday’s Workout

Deadlift (conventional)
275x1 ~20 sets

Dips
BW+80lbs x1 ~20 sets

Tuesday’s workout

Deadlift (sumo)
245x1 ~20 sets

Chin-Ups
BW+50lbs x 1 ~20 sets

I lost my sheet with my workout and meal plan on it, so boo hoo for me. Lucky for me I managed to get the pink eye yesterday and came down with strep throat today within 1 hour of being at work, so I’ll be sitting at home mapping out my plan of attack while drinking some OJ and eating whatever I can manage to choke down.

I’ve decided that I’m going to go through with the surgery sometime in late August/early September. The ROM in my leg is still extremely limited and whenever I try to run I can only get about 3-4 steps in before I’m reduced to hobble shuffling.

Here has been my meal plan so far

Meal 1 - 6 eggs, 3/4 oatmeal (dry), 2 bananas, 1tsp honey, 1 serving Chia, 5g fish oil

Meal 2 - 5oz chicken, low carb tortilla, 1tbsp peanut butter, 5g fish oil, 2 cups milk

Pre workout - 1 scoop Surge
Post workout - 1 scoop Surge, 5g creatine

Meal 3 - 5oz chicken, broccoli, 5g fish oil, 1oz walnuts, 2 cups milk

Meal 4 - 1 scoop Grow! Whey, 5g fish oil, 2 cups milk

Meal 5 - 2 scoop Metabolic Drive, 2 bananas, 2 cups milk

My energy has been great, my workouts have been awesome, and I’ve been getting comments about how I look bigger lately. I guess by including carbs back in my diet my glycogen stores are finally topped off and lend to that ‘full’ look I have these days. Hell, during my chin-up workout yesterday, I had super veins in both my arms, and once I took off weight belt I performed my first ever clap pull-up.

I’ve noticed that whenever I get less than 9 hours of sleep I feel like shit all day, and am likely to get only 1 of my 2 workouts. Tuesday night I only got about 6 hours of sleep and I only had enough energy to make it through 1 round of my GPP circuit on Wed.

By the way, who would be interested in me posting a video of one of my circuits?

Tried to cut off my finger so I’m back in the emergency room. Should have a good picture or two.

Btw…my EDT session fucking ruled today.
