SHUT UP I HATE YOU I HATE EVERYTHING MOM MOM MOM THEY’RE BEING MEAN MAKE THEM STOP I HATE YOU
I think they have their place in a training program in certain cycles, but my go to staple row is definitely dumbbell. I just think the lower back stimulation can be done more efficiently and effectively through direct work. Its one of those try it out kind of things
It’s been a while since I watched the video and I really don’t have enough experience with them to comment on effectiveness, but I don’t remember him mentioning much else. I think the way he does them forces you to be strong about mid shin, which I know for me is a sticking point and I’m wondering if that is why they’re so effective for him.
You could look up Leeman’s old videos as well. I love doing RDLs the way he does them. They helped me a lot around the knee. He was also where I first saw low box deadlift stance squats and those helped me a lot off the floor imo
I think Leeman was on to something with the higher rep stuff, some of his assistance was crazy high reps. I incorporated some of these into my training and it helps a lot, and its sorta fun. You can usually set a PR every workout if you want too
I don’t understand the benefit here?
The orthopedic surgeon who does that lifter’s lower back surgery will benefit.
Pete Rubish doesn’t need lower back. Lower back needs Pete Rubish
When he deadlifts he doesn’t pull the bar up, he pushes the earth away. Powerlifting’s Chuck Norris.
He truly has brass balls.
At what point does his lower back look like it’s in a compromised position during that whole set? Sure he’s using it but that won’t hurt it.
