Doggone. I just recovered from it a couple-few weeks ago. Sleep as much as possible, stay hydrated, and hang there.
Thank you all for the sympathy. Honestly, this year has been a rollercoaster for me, and I’d say that the bad outweighs the good. This was really the cherry on top.
I don’t feel very bad. I’ve honestly had worse sinus infections when I was a kid. I tested myself yesterday morning more on a whim, and the result surprised me because I thought it was just a cold or something. I’m more depressed about the circumstances.
I’d been preparing very diligently for an exam to earn my C2 German certificate, which clearly isn’t happening this week. I really wanted to be done with it. Of course this isn’t the end of the world – I can prepare myself even better to take the test in hopefully the not too distant future. But I did lose some money from this, and not being able to go to work in person in the meantime is somewhat limiting.
It’s hard to not blame myself, so I am busying myself as much as I can at home.

50 pullups
75 pushups
Something to do this morning. At least this forced time off has enabled me to set up and start working from my new MacBook Pro. I have also been going on long walks.
My partner had a very similar case last week, felt slightly bad for 3 days then was fine, I hope you have similar outcomes.
Winnie wishes you wellness!
Thanks, I appreciate you and Winnie! Give her all the pets from me.
To answer your other question: This year I spent 89,000 minutes listening primarily to indie pop, modern rock, compositional ambient, dreamo, and German indie. So, no bubble grunge for me. And you?
Listened to 65k minutes (13k fewer than last year and 56k fewer than my all-time high in 2019, sadly). Think that’s a function of working at home and not having to have music to distract me. Saw a decent amount of shows though, happy with my music this year.
Top 5 were Indie Rock, Bubblegrunge, Rap, Indie Pop, and Stomp and Holler. I haven’t even bother looking into what Stomp and Holler is, the Front Bottoms are “Folk Punk” among other things so I’m just naively assuming that’s how I got lumped in there.
I’m currently making my way through Paste Magazine’s top 50 albums of the year, I haven’t made it very far, somewhat torturous but will hopefully find a few I like.
Now I’m curious (I wouldn’t know what that is tbh - any specific bands?)
I attribute most of those listens to Provinz, but I’m also a fan of Yukno and Betterov, for example.

Any bench PR deserves a comment. Well done
It’s a bench-PR kind of day! Congratulations.
That is fantastic! Right after being sick to boot!
Thanks all. I appreciate the comments.

Very lackluster day. Everything will be much better when I enter a surplus again… sometime soon. At the very least I did not have to fight tooth and nail against Ticketmaster today for Death Cab/Postal Service tickets, so that is the silver lining amidst my Bad Time lately. Also, I will finally do something social again this weekend.
