I wasn’t planning on doing anything today, but the weather is really nice again. And I was up early despite a tiring day yesterday: conditioning, chores, 25k+ steps while telephoning a friend, and then going on a I-didn’t-think-it-was-a-date-at-all-but-maybe-he-did type of hangout. I didn’t take a photo of it, but I had a nice Asian-Mexican fusion meal.
So, my legs kind of feel like jello right now. My core is still very sore from the 400s I did on Thursday too.
For sure. Well, at least not as awkward as I expected it to be, especially considering we hadn’t hung out in nearly a year despite living in the same city. But I hate dating – that’s a big reason why I don’t do it – and how affects social life in a general sense, which may or may not make sense, ahaha.
I mean, the answer to the second question could very well be yes but ultimately I don’t like the dating process and its associated pressure, social norms and expectations, etc…
Are you training for any particular type of run or just using this as a conditioning tool? It makes me wonder how fast (slow) my 400 time would be right now
Just a conditioning tool right now. I think 400s are the perfect distance for this purpose. I never ran track in school, but I feel like would be the most painful race.
Is this your first time through 1000% Awesome? It was one of my favorites for balanced training and seeing you run it kinda makes me want to run it again as well.
Yep. I tried it for a few sessions last year but butchered it from the beginning, which didn’t work well logistically. So, I abandoned it. I’m sticking to it as written and like it so far, especially under my current circumstances.
Balanced is a perfect word to describe it. Would be cool to run it alongside you!
Maybe I’ll switch gears and just do this OG 5/3/1 as a one-off and go to 1000% Awesome. My schedule is gonna blow until probably June, so the 3-day program with quick sessions would probably be good. Plus I need to un-fat a bit so that I don’t have to buy a new summer wardrobe. haha
Ugh, undergrad who has been working with me and was next to me for a few hours on Tuesday. He told me afterwards that his friends had COVID but he continued testing negative. He just tested positive for COVID today. This sucks.
