Bagsy's Training Log

When I picked one up I used it regularly for a few months. It turned into a dust collector in short order. I’m on team sell and invest in new gear, haha.

It’s definitely nice to have when running outside is not feasible. But it really has been a dust collector for me. Plus it’s an eyesore in my small apartment, and I feel bad for my neighbors whenever I use it because it’s so loud.

Nothing like a little bit of forced periodization huh?

I used nano-spikes on a few runs this year which made winter a little more accessible. Snowshoes runs could be pretty next level too.

Had a much-needed day with my friend. Was nice to dust off my camera and enjoy nature

Some jumps

SSB squat
130x5
140x3
155x2 PR

I slept horrendously last night. I never tried that much weight with the SSB before. I look like I am in so much pain in the video, hahaha. I feel kind of crummy but might try to squeeze in hill sprints later

PM
Five hill sprints + 1200m cooldown

That sucked, but it was too nice to not do it. Good because it will rain later this week.

Appreciate the comments!

Press from the floor
60x5

70x1, double definitely not happening

That’s the quickest workout I’ve ever done. I slept in a little too late – I usually have to get to work very early on Tuesdays – but still wanted to get this done because I probably won’t get home until the evening. So, I woke up, dressed into my work clothes, and scrambled to finish this. Rest times were switching plates. That top set was one of the wonkiest reps I’ve ever done. Oh well, at least I don’t have to do this when I get home.

So, I am extra thankful for my home gym today.

240x1, couldn’t pull a double
250x1 PR

Humane burpee 24kg 4:40 (shaved a minute from last time)

50 band pull aparts

I wanted a PR today, so I decided to go for a heavy single after failing the second rep on what I thought would be my top set. I was curious enough afterwards to weigh myself for the first time in months – unfortunately, I did not pull 2x BW because I am a little heavier than I thought I would be right now. But on the bright side my belt is usually a bit tighter around this weight, so I can’t be disappointed.

3x400m run (1:27,1:30,1:25)
800m cooldown 3:55

I hated that. I still haven’t quite figured out which program to do next, and I need to do that later today before I start tomorrow.

3x8 pullups

Front squat
85x5
100x5
110x5

Push press from the floor
70x5x5

20 standing ab wheel
100 band pull aparts
Dips 18,12

I usually stray from full body programs set up like this, but I think this is worth a try. Shaking things up in a not so overwhelming way makes me look a little more forward to lifting again. Front squats are beckoning me, so I’m going to take a break from SSB squats. It feels good to add more volume again.

“Litvinov” 3x24kg goblet squat (16,13,15) + 300m run
10 min 80# sandbag carry (around 400m)

I procrastinated on this after a poor night’s sleep, but I feel better now. I’m starting to like finishing my lifting sessions during the week and reserving the weekend for this kind of heavier conditioning. I think I will plan my schedule like this moving forward.
