Low on time this morning, fueled by my outrage and devastation at the world. Anyway, I think BBB is the right call given my circumstances. I think I’m going to treat the assistance in some ways like a bodypart split, mostly with respect to lower body stuff, which will be reserved for squat day only, because that worked well for me on DW.

What I wrote was not clear. I should have added an “also” or “additional” to my second sentence. Again, I am worried for Ukrainians, but at the same time I am also upset that this conflict will affect my own privileged life.

Meh, we all do that.

That doesn’t make me feel any better, haha. But that’s okay. I will mope and try to feel less bad about it. It’s very dramatic, but I can’t help but feel that world events in recent years conspire against me.

This was a lot easier than expected. Anger and having done DW before this really help! For BBB I used the weights I used for DW. Very doable. Soon enough I will have to eat more though. I got too comfortable this month with eating less. I plan to catch up on conditioning this weekend and early next week.

Made a dent in the new Table Talk podcast episode that features Jim while I rode the bike. Aside from music, it’s the first time I’ve been able to drag myself, someone who otherwise puts forth effort to not engage with the news, away from media related to the current situation. It’s not good.

I barely slept last night. But it didn’t matter because this was awesome. These aren’t PRs by any means, but 195 moved like a feather. The BBB sets felt even smoother than when I used this weight for DW. Sharing the top set because that weight has never felt so light before.

I’ll probably go running later. Also went dairy-free for not very long, stopping that because I don’t think it is an issue… or I simply miss Greek yogurt.

Very warm today. It makes me wonder how I have run hills in the past in 95+ degrees. The hill was still muddy but not slippery enough to make an excuse to not go for it. I haven’t done these in months, and I sure felt that. I hope the weather cooperates so that these feature regularly in my training again.

15 minutes of carrying 70# sandbag

Over a half mile of bear hug carries with the bag. It was good to pick it up again after a while. I need to be less lazy and get more weight.

My eating and, in turn, sleeping habits are very poor right now. My body image is kind of blah, which I realize is probably a reflection of those. I’ve also had painfully long days at work so far this week. I need a good night’s sleep so badly. I suspect these next five weeks will actually demand more fortitude than DW did.
