Bad Side Effects From Time Off?

Ill be going out of town for four or five days and I was wondering, are there were any detrimental effects to taking this long between workouts?
Thanks

If you’ve been training for awhile it’ll be a good thing. Give your body time to heal, and regain itself back to 100%.

If you’re not wanting to rest for a week, you can always do body-weight exercises or find a place with a gym you can use. I would not worry about it, just keep your eating habits up and you’ll just be super psyched to get back to the gym when you return.

I personally would take it as an opporunity to rest and let minor injuries recover…

five days is perfect. everything i’ve read and every strength coach i’ve ever talked to has said it takes your body 7 days to fully recover and after 7 it starts to lose its progress. If i were you I would take the opportunity to rest and not worry about not being able to get to the gym; however, i would do at least 100 push-ups everyday.

5 days won’t make a bit of difference and as the other guy said may even help.

echoing the other statements, it will do you a world of good. However, if you’ve recently taken a break from working out, I suggest doing high-rep bodyweight exercises. keep up your nutrition and try to stay somewhat active. other than that, have a good mini-vacation.

What everybody else already said people fail to realize how good rest can be at times.

1-2 days of rest can be good for your, from time to time, but 4-5 days is too much. after that much time off, your whole body will start to shrink. youll notice that others around you seem to have gotten taller and bigger, but in reality youve just gotten smaller and shorter. to try and limit this as much as you can while youre away, avoid protein and drink as much coke as you can. its been working for me.
