Back Warmup Before Before Squat?

All the leg, glutes, and back warmup mentioned are all good.
What I found really helped me was pre workout stretching. This seems to have fallen out of favour in recent decades, thought to decrease performance, cause injury etc. It certainly can if you try to force movements, without a substancial warm up .
The type of stretching I advocate is gentle, based on relaxing into it. It should always feel pleasurable, rather than forcing maximal stretch. Its great because it allows to regain a balance. Eg you my be able to force yourself into the splits. Your legs will ache for a week, even if you don’t actually do a minor tear. Instead go only halfway down, always in control, relaxed pleasurable stay there for as long as you want even a couple of minutes.
Hip stretches for front of the upper thigh join, and deep postural muscles. Ian King has some good(but expensive) books and dvd’s. They have really helped me

If squats bother your lower back don’t do them. Play around with some deadlifts varations - i also found 60lb + DB farmers walk work great for the lower back - then yeah you have to figure something out…

I picked up one of those hip circle belt thingies off Mark Bell’s site (howmuchyabench.net) and it has been great for getting me warmed up for squatting. It really activates the glutes.

You might want to also read “Deskbound” by Dr. Kelly Starrett as well. It’s a bit on the dramatics side, but it is a great resource if you sit a lot and have back issues.
