Here is my almost 84 yrs. old father, ‘keeping busy’ in his retirement. He also has 2 private students, leads an adult class (he’s had for longer than I’ve been alive!), and works out at La’ Finesse’ (L.A. Fitness to you and me) 3 days a week. He also taught one grand kid to drive this year, and is starting soon with another one.

Thursday: 11/17/16.

BE: Warmed up, similar to ‘meet day’. Ended up with 1 @ 220,242,262/ 282 with Slingshot/ 2x1@ 242. Felt pretty good.

End with 4 sets of Lateral raise; lots of band work throughout.

Short and sweet.

Friday; Last heavy DL’s; 17 days out.

Also, warmed up ‘meet style’. Hit singles at 264,315, 352, 3x1 @ 372

Block pull, below knee: 352@ 2,3,2,3 reps.

These are reps 1 and 3@ 372.

Looked, and felt, a bit less-than-vertical on these:) Been a bit stiff this week, from the SQ/ leg press, and overall volume I think.

After Sunday, some of that will drop off, as planned. Gonna be in the 183 class again; same as all year (4 meets)

Great week overall for both training, and PRT (personal recovery time).

Sunday; 2 weeks out.

Didn’t lift today. Woke up with scratchy throat/congestion BS; better after work, but decided to hold off. Next lifts are Tues, Fri, Sun; medium work for SQ/ DL, 1 more heavy BE to go on Friday.

All but set on my attempts for meet day. I’ll put them aside for awhile; re-visit next week (?)

To that point, I’ve completed my weight cut (un-wanted) by being sick the past 3-ish days :frowning: From about 185 to 178lbs, on the same scale…Good grief:)

All I can say is, like last time, my intensity and volume went so high, I didn’t keep up with the recovery part; eating, sleeping ect. I just got run down again. Last time, I was sick until about 5 days out; this time it’s about 11 days. Plenty of time to recoup/re-feed and be ready to go.

Tuesday 11/22; Of course I lifted while sick; only a little bit.

Seated Ham: 6’s @ 120,135,150,165,180
Leg Press: 6close+6 wide@ 480,480,570,660,480.
Hammer pulldowns: 6@ 120,120,135,145,145.
DB flat press: 8’s @ 50,50,60,70,70.

I’m pretty sure I’ve eaten about 6 lbs. of food stuff today; to make up for the sickness/weight loss. I know, it’s not that simple, but BOY has it tasted great!!!

Last heavy BE tomorrow (slingshot included), work up SQ/ DL to decent singles as well.

I’m glad your feeling better. Being able to eat what you want going into a meet is a nice thing.

Thanks Big D. I signed up to lift in the 94k class, thinking I may gain some good weight; I have not:) Not concerned about it going in; I’ll weight what I weight.

Friday: 10 days out; last heavy BE and stuff.

Did my ‘meet’ warm-ups for all 3 lifts, ended up with the following.

SQ: Up to 1 rep @ 220, 242,264, 286 (opener?). Done.

BE: Up to 1 rep @ 220, 242, 264/ Slingshot reps @ 275, 284, 284. All paused, and strong; 284= +14lbs of max.

DE: Up to 2x1@ 264, 2x1@ 330. Done.
