Back...Into the Deep End

Wait a minute! I want to see Karen with her pom poms. We know you are just a tease. (Still waiting on the warm up in the yoga pants vid. ) Good thing I don’t have a cheerleader outfit, I would have to embarrass myself, because I take things like that as a challenge… :stuck_out_tongue:

We may get to the pom-poms later…but first:

Wens. leaving the gym= 183lbs.

Thurs. night at home= 177 lbs… um, not likely. Friday afternoon, at my sisters work (Doc office), I was 183 in shoes/ clothes. Alrighty then.

At the risk of sounding like an ass. No need to worry about things you can’t change. It is what it is. Don’t waste energy on that. Too late to change it either way.

Never to late. A snack of truck stop sushi, and I’ll be down 4-7 lbs. overnight!!

Kidding…I kid. Not an issue at all. I am ready to roll.

Bahahahaaaa… Good Luck! You sexy, passion flower. Go get 'em!

Me too. I’m willing to travel to see that.

And I thought I was the only one who called z-man sexy, passion flower.

My apologies sir. It probably sounds better coming from you. I think it scares him when I say it. :joy:

Not one sexy, passion flower, but two!!! You guys look great! Congratulations!!!

Write up coming soon…I was only guy in my age/weight class…= gold medal

The suspense is killing me!

Oh wait. I was there.

Dang, that picture is pretty good!! I’m on the left, with Karen ‘Boss’ Nelson. Who has what we like to call great “command presence” in the head referee chair; clear, strong, in control.
Very professional. At least I got 1 good lift in while she was there.
Great job pal!!

Now, on to the other stuff…

Rocky Mountain State Games: 7/31/16

The short version: weighed in at 176lbs… I really thought I was right around 182-183. A few weeks of work BS, excitement/ stress ect= 176.

SQ: Opened easy@ 275/ 2nd @ 303 (tied PR)/ went for meet goal @ 325 and missed. Stalled a bit out of the hole; weight to far forward…couldn’t recover. Shit!

BE: Opened easy @ 242/ 2nd @ 253 (tied PR)/ went for goal @ 264 and missed. Really? Couldn’t get 11 more lbs? Stalled high up (triceps?), couldn’t lock it out. Shit Again!!

DL: Hit 320 easy/ jumped to 353 (16lbs PR) and hit that/ went for goal @ 374 and HIT it! A 38lbs PR. Finally, a 3rd attempt with 3 white light. The BOSS was in the head chair for my DL’s, so that was cool.

We had about 90mins between lifts (3 flights). Eating and drinking, probably saved me a bit. By the time DL’s came up, I just wasn’t gonna miss.

So, only got 1 out of 3 PR’s that I wanted, and didn’t get my meet goal (of course) so that stunk. But it was a gain of 38lbs on my total. So there’s that.

Probably lift another meet in Sept/Oct; not sure yet, and then in December, same meet as last year.
Onward and Upward.

Thanks to my T-Nation Guys and Dolls for all the support. I truly do appreciate it.

Well fine.

Lifting again, Sept. 25th, over in Wheat Ridge somewhere…why the heck not.

No cutting, bulking, taper off…just gonna roll right through it. I’ll plan to peak a bit I suppose, then de-load after. That’s about it.

Sunday; weigh in at 3, lift at 5pm…or whenever.

Great result Z… congrats !

Your good work there probably broke down that pre meet worrying cycle a bit for next meet…

Thanks Boys; onward and upward…as I say.

Lifted a bit Thursday, breaking my 1 week off plan; I got bored. Going back to it Sunday, 8 weeks away from my next meet. Main focus is lower/quads to re-gain size and save/build strength.
Weight loss= skinnier than I like to be.

So: Lower volume/ higher intensity with 4 sessions a week. Simple.

8 weeks to a Meet; 10-ish weeks to another Meet (early Dec.) Hitting 1000+ lbs. by the end of the year. That 930 B.S. I just did left a bitter taste:)
Rock On.
