Back Acne and What I Did About It.

I read about that a while back and in disbelief i looked it up in WIKIPEDIA! Honestly, if it says it in Wiki, and you own a computer, there is really no excuse for repeated ignorance.

Oh my God - you were right J-J!!! I had just dismissed it as bullshit and moved on. Oops…

If Nizoral works, I’m guessing ketoconazole cream would work as well since it is the active ingredient in Nizoral. I might try rubbing some into my shoulders before bed (unless there is a reason why I should not - anyone?).

I’ve also heard spironolactone cream, another topical anti-androgen, is effective against acne. Maybe mixing the two together and rubbing them on the shoulders and back before bed would be effective? I know Dr. Crisler recommends a shampoo mixed with ketoconazole and spironolactone for combating hair loss, maybe they have a synergistic effect?

Well I stand corrected. I should point out however that I only expressed my disbelief in what J-J said because personally I have never seen it used for chemo

Also to add - You cannot disbelieve EVERYTHING you hear if you have never personally seen it to be the case.

Haha, the copying of a link made it come out in ASCII or something.

Neg but I’m a medical student so I’ve seen my fair share and am familiar with many of the drugs that they use. Anyway I was wrong and learned my lesson: don’t open my mouth if I don’t even bother to do a google search first

I think that is a lesson that almost everyone learns the hard way in forums!

I might grab a bottle just to see how this works.

Now does anyone have suggestions how to get rid of those mother fucking under-the-skin-cyst things that I keep getting on my armpits?

haha :)[/quote]

I think what you’re describing are sebaceous cysts. unfortunately they’ll keep coming back… just make sure to get as much puss out as possible, and disinfect, that could get rid of them.

Well, it would ONLY be used for neuroblastoma and even for that it’s categorized as a ClassIIb txtment. Google search is not a practical source of pharm dosing. If you are a medical student you should really have MUCH better resources than that. Merk, Harrisons, micromed, lexicomp etc

Started getting some bumps on my shoulders and back. Read on another forum to use Nizoral Anti-Dandruff shampoo every day as a body wash. I’ve been using it for about 2 weeks, and I am all cleared up. I noticed a difference after the first treatment.

I lather it up with a luffa, and then let it sit for about 2 minutes before rinsing it off.

I suggest trying it if you haven’t already.

Isn’t Ketokonazole only for anti-fungal purposes?

Honestly, I don’t understand the methods behind why it is working, hopefully someone else can chime in.

All I know, is I am in PCT right now, with almost no acne on my back. Last cycle, (which was the same compounds, same duration, and less total mgs,) I was an acne farm.

Here I was thinking I found the sunken treasure with my old bottle of Selsun Blue, which also works magically… The two have one thing in common from what I can see… SELENIUM Anyone??? Anyone???

Interesting. You certainly could be onto something. Might have to research selenium a bit later.

OTOH, it might just be that shampoo tends to be quite mild, and as it’s designed to remove human oils, it can clean skin without drying it out excessively and leading to increased oil production.

odd that I find this thread.
another great use for this shampoo is for your feet.
I found out recently as my wife has moccasin type athletes foot and I am starting to get it due to my work boots.
I found that the active ingredient in the shampoo is prescribed for that very reason,I guess its the only thing that can penetrate through the thick skin brought on with this problem,
so maybe this will help the itchy foot people out there as well.

I had some left over acne that had been hanging around for a while well after PCT on my shoulders. Just wouldn’t go away. Tried dial, acne bodywash, and even straight rubbing alcohol and none of it seemed to do jack. Then soon after I saw this thread I took some of the ketoconazole (same active ingredient in Nizoral) cream I had and rubbed it on my shoulders before I went to bed. Within a few days it’s all dried up and disappearing. Nice, thank you.

Next time I will use it during my cycle and it will hopefully keep me clear the whole time.

Has anyone been game to use shampoo for facial acne?

Thanks for this thread.

I’ve been using Differin 3% gel on my face and it’s the best acne medicine I’ve ever used. And I don’t feel like I’ being girly putting tons of different shit on my face. I just wash my face in the shower with nutragena acne prone bar soap and then apply some differin when I get out. Been pretty good to me so far, I still get a few pimples every now and then but it seems to keep the big cystic ones under control.
