Baby Got Back.

Keep hanging in there Up! You’ll be back (no pun intended) to normal in no time!

Yea, G I know.

Today

warm up lots of good stuff

Bench flat- feet still up on all sets

45 2x10
65 2x10
75 2x8
85 2x6 used the board thing G made me, but I think he didnt think about a “couple” things hahaha although once I got used to letting the bar “sink in” it seemed pretty good.
75/8
65/10
Was thinking some push ups between bench sets, during my first set body felt HEAVY, and didnt have it in me to fight, so only did one :frowning: EDIT one set/15 not 1 rep

low incline
55/10 speed narrow grip
65/8 lol tried speed, then had to fight elbows trying to flair coming up, which im trying to keep it tight.

db low incline
20s 2 sets of
12-0 count at bottom, m-fer these babies burn!

tris
band press down alt with 20# french press 2 sets

Hard to stay tight with feet up, but not worth pushing it too soon. Over all felt GREAT! Looked histerical with that thing in my shirt. Bad ass Lil I was not, haha

I’ve been benching with the board under my shirt. Finally, I have some curves! I have a hard time with people hovering over me in the bench spotting and holding the boards. Makes me claustrophobic.

Sorry to hear about your back! Patience, my dear.

Always glad to read about your training endeavors.

I really need to re-check my spelling…
Ha on the board holding, I just shoved mine under. I believe its newspapers taped, so it has a little give. If you put on weight, doesnt it go to chest? This is what made me clean my eating up, bad enough my jeans dont fit. Anyhow, I think a half board will be the perfect height when
Im able to bring back some arch.
I have thought of you benching with your feet up, dang… it takes some balance, and it takes the lats out quite a bit, I really had them fired up with my old form, sigh. Need to stay on that incline stuff, i like when the upper chest is filled out, hate my bony color bone look, so it helps.

training endeavors: I have realized Im most comfortable with a happy medium body(I wish I could be like kimba and just KNOW “this” is where I want to stay.)But Im more complicated than her, ha. Its not a “scale weight” thing for me, but an overall appearance. When Im teetering up
in weight AND not hitting some decent condo/cardio work I just cant stay as “tight” anymore.
I suppose this is the majority of people, but I never gave it a thought when I was really lean.
So I guess if I want to stay this “size”, that is something Ill have to be on top of.(If Im not being clear I mean I like where I am at, but it can go either way quicker than i am comfortable with). I only bring this up, because of your talk of gaining muscle, what ever did you decide?

When I put on weight, it largely goes to my ass and thighs. Not so much above the waist. I’ve never been successful at just putting on muscle in any sort of even distribution. Actually, I’ve never really been successful in putting on muscle period. You, Up, naturally have a very nice hourglass physique. Really nice. I have more of a long, lean tomboy build with ass and thighs, if that makes sense.

Yes, Kimba has a very definite aesthetic that she aspires to. And that’s cool. I think most women do. Like you, I don’t aspire to a number on the scale or a pants size because I’m pretty damn obsessed with the all-powerful 1 RM. Like you, I can add or lose a few pounds lightning fast, but it’s always diet-related. What I’ve decided at this point is to sit at about 110 lb. and focus on clean eats and rebuilding my strength. I still aspire to cut to the 105s for my next meet. If I lose strength, it will be a lesson learned.

Ive always been inspired and fascinated with a larger muscled woman, Im definitely NOT the norm, most of my friends would b-slap me! I never got so many compliments in my life then when I was super lean, I just didnt feel “worthy” of what was said, Im guessing because I admire a larger fuller size. Not to mention the whole “your so skinny thing” said as a compliment, always confused the hell out of me, because “I” took it as an insult. Funny too cause even though you hear a lot of men going on about a “curvy” woman, they “prefer” the look of me lean, interesting, huh?!! My eating plan guy i used would say the same thing to me as i was trying to “get bigger”.

As you can see this subject is very interesting to me. I just wish I knew about lifting more than 5bs of weight, years ago!

Well as far as your body, I love a nice plump a$$ and thigh build myself  If I weighed that 105 Id look like a walking skeleton, you obviously have a ton more muscle than me. I am very small boned with similar measurements to you. Be interesting to see what 105# and strength does for you, or to you i should say.

Hey BTW, get my email from G, just in case one of us disappears.

Finally, someone else who gets this! I heard this a lot in the past - and still do today - and I don’t like it. Call me slender, fit, petite…but “skinny” has a negative connotation to me…makes me think “unhealthy.”

EDIT: I know I was a little off your train of thought here…that you were saying you didn’t care for the “you’re so skinny” comment because you preferred the “fuller” size, but I couldn’t resist jumping in to share. Obviously, it’s rubbed me the wrong way to hear that comment but for different reason.

Another one that goes along with that is, “Why do you train so hard? You don’t need to lose any weight!” UGH! I used to reply that it’s about losing fat, building muscle/strength, getting fit, etc. - but now I just smile and say that it’s fun and I do it to stay healthy and ask what they’re doing. Shuts 'em up pretty fast.

Have a good one!

An interesting subject for many of us, obviously. So many thoughts I have on this topic.

I’ll contact G1.

Hey Up! My 2 cents fwiw. I have seen you from the extreme lean to the bigger powerful body. Honestly i am amazed at how awesome you look at either extreme(so to speak) and everywhere between the 2. Seriously you are so blessed to be able to look absolutely amazing in that whole span. I think that whatever look, size, leanness etc you decide you want you will be stunning. Yea i know i am biased…lol. But being honest!

Glad to hear you liked the board presses. I love me some 2 board pressing.

kbgal I love that line, and would love to be there to see the look on their face, ha!

Kpsnap

G Yes you are, esp. cause you hear my feedback, whining or contentment. Just for the record Im not trying for any weight gain/loss, more muscle less muscle, I just want to have fun

Joe I did love it, trying to find that sticking spot. Love me some bench! Im thinking a half board rig may be good too.

Soooo today was supposed to be legs but I had the little devil on my shoulder and knew id do too much.
I opted for a trail ride with the hubby. I was careful to stop after the first 30 and stretch, and walk the bike up the hill on way back, no way was i going to try and grind that out. Smart move.
Going to have some ribs, veg and rice for dinner and take a jacuzzi.

This was lunch ate half that stuffed pepper, it was huge.

yay for bench PRs! The 100 and 105 sure looked nice, and now you know how “tight” you need to be on the bench.

Ah, the female “skinny” issue, I’ve never had to deal with that, ha ha…but I love what my “leaning” up has done so far, and now I want more dense muscle curves I can visible see …and of course the strength that goes with it.

Hmm. “Skinny” has always been an insult to guys, but I always had the impression a lot of gals would like to be “skinny” . . . it turns out those who do want it tend to be on the plump side and grinding on the treadmill . . .

Personally, I think you gals here look really healthy and in great shape. I guess if a gal is the type “Oh no, what if I build big, ugly muscles?”, she won’t be pounding away in the gym.

Stuffed peppers . . . drool, drool!

Interesting topic on being called skinny. I used to love being called skinny, because all my life I was told I was muscular, which as a teenage girl I took to mean fat. The deeper I get into PLing though, the more I love hearing that I look strong. It seems to be such a healthier place to be in than forever chasing a smaller number, though by no means do i feel free of that either.

How is your back feeling? Stuffed pepper looks amazing!

I hear you in my head when getting ready to bench, get tight up! Sounds easy, sadly not so much, but when its dialed in its so sweet.
You can definitely get those muscles popping out!

Cav …EH, not for me, but I know what you mean.

lula Backs ok, thanks for asking. Hub did a deep, very deep massage last night. He said he could feel like a ballish shape in lower back and left glute. Super deep in glute, I know I couldnt even dig a ball in there that hard as he was working on it. Had tears coming but i know its got to get relaxed out. Hamstrings are like rocks too. Sad thing was, after all that torture it wasnt long before i tightened up. Today is the first day i noticed sitting wasnt that bad.
I have an apt, to check everything out, but couldnt get in till 18th!

I keep looking to see if Im losing muscle, luckily had a decent base.

Im going a bit crazy not hitting it like I wanted to by this month :frowning: I know others have gone months, so I wont wallow in my misery (out loud anyway) hehe

Hey Up, the skinny thing is out. I think if you took a pole most men who are into sports love a woman with a build. The Hollywood thing I never understood. They tend to give these woman complexes. If you look at all the shows on TV, they always project these skinny woman. If you notice in movies, the woman they pick are woman who are a bit bigger than the norm. If you continue to do the big lifts you will definitely get what your trying to achieve. I myself always loved the curvacious type, ones which get thier build from playing sports or lifting. Their a dime a dozen. A lot of friends I talk to when it comes to weights and ask me questions always say “well I don’t want to look like a man, or get as big as one.” I just shake my head. They just don’t get it. Judging from that pic you put up, for example, you have traps, wow. Now how many woman even develop theirs. Your doing an awesome job, again in my opinion.
