B12 Injections Are Cheap

I have insurance and paid 5$ for a vial which contains 10ml or 10 doses if you gave yourself 1ml weekly.

You do have to purchase the needles and syringes which are inexpensive. Less than a buck for each. I dunno about you but in the long haul that seems to be way cheaper than an energy drink!

I just asked my family doc to write an rx for it cause it can’t hurt. I was actually there for a checkup and thought why not it’s bound to help along with everything else I’ve been doing. Heck I even have 3 refills!

Yeah buddy! You’ll be hitting 500 ft home runs in no time!

Are you on Metformin or have some problems assimilating dietary B12? If so, I can definitely see the benefits of sublingual or injectable B12. Otherwise…???

Let us know the results. Have you tried it already?

yeah, i can’t understand the big deal about b-12 shots, maybe it’s just the pro’s use it as a scapegoat.

but really, either eating a diet sufficient in b-vitamins or supplementing with a pill should do the trick. no thanks for involving a needle for something as basic as b-12

I have noticed a big difference in sustained energy levels following a B-12 injection. I have been using them for the past three weeks and am impressed. It is not like the kind of intense energy you get from a Spike. I don’t use it in my pre workout routine but it does help with energy throughout the day. I have never noticed this from oral B-12. Although I must admit I have never taken 500mcg orally all at once.

Well to be honest…I would rather drink 4 energy drinks for a buck fifty a piece and not need the pricks or the doctors visits…much easier…

Spike Shooters have three times that vitamin B12.

An at home injection seems a little on the risky side just for some B12. When I take B12 orally I piss bright yellow in an hour, and that only 12MCG, something about forcing 500mcg into your body just seems… unsafe.

the energy drinks I have have 8 calories, those are from aminos, no sugar no carbs, adaptogenic herbs and a little caffiene(small cup of coffee)…what crap in there where you talking about?

As lixy pointed out Spike Shooters have 3 times that amount of B-12. Nobody, at least that I know of has had any adverse effects from Spike. Many people may even consume more than one per day.

I think Bushy was referring to the standardized red bull style energy drink.

An insane amount of B12 can cause nerve damage and thats no good, given you’d have to take such high levels of the stuff that nerve damage from an overabundance is impossible from a normal diet. If you’re pissing yellow, cut down on it.

You aren’t going to get nerve damage from that amount, but clearly, you can’t absorb all of it and your kidneys are not thanking you for the extra work (they don’t get payed time and a half for overtime).

For anyone considering taking B12, check this out:
http://dietary-supplements.info.nih.gov/factsheets/vitaminb12.asp

Also, a lot of vitamins are fat soluble and might require other vitamins to aid in absorption, so the healthiest option is always to eat foods that include B12, although since so many due, I doubt you’ll have an issue with not getting enough of the vitamin in your diet.

Just being a troll. But check out the fact sheet, it contains a lot of information.

Jesus Syn, stop trolling with you “research” and “politeness”

Is injectable b12 legal OTC or is it by prescript only?

And if I order online from a research site, what is a good price to pay?

Someone PLEASE answer these basic questions

This is from the link posted above:
What is the health risk of too much vitamin B12?
The Institute of Medicine of the National Academies did not establish a UL for this vitamin because vitamin B12 has a very low potential for toxicity. The IOM states that “no adverse effects have been associated with excess vitamin B12 intake from food and supplements in healthy individuals” [7]. In fact, the IOM recommends that adults older than 50 years get most of their vitamin B12 from vitamin supplements or fortified food because of the high incidence of impaired absorption in this age group of vitamin B12 from foods that come from animals [7].

I occasionaly use injectable b-12 and can feel a difference in mood, appetite, and energy levels. It is not an energy boost like with Spike or some other energy supps, you just have better energy throughout the whole day.
