Does anyone have any knowledge about all these energy shots on the market? IS it a bad or good idea to drink one before a workout. Most of them have a ridiculous amount of B-12 and B-6. In what way does vitamin B affect your muscles?
Spike has a shitload of B-vits too; i have taken teh pills and drank the cans before…no worries.

I know B-6 has been shown to have a negative impact on your brain. Some aas users have been using b-6 at high dosages to block prolactin/progesterone. 200mg or more per day can become dangerous. It damages the basal ganglia which can lead to parkinsons disease down the road. So as long as it’s not an everyday thing of consuming more than 200mg you should be fine, but I would stay away from it. I prefer some form of NO and small amount of caffeine. Caffeine is not bad in my opinion if regulated.

I don’t know about the advantages of b6, but know that it is very difficult for our bodies to absorb b12. We have something called intrinsic factor, this binds to the b12 allowing us to absorb it; we have a fixed amount of b12 and most deficiencies, like in the elderly, come from an insufficient supply of the intrinsic factor, not the b12. Taking large doses of b12 in liquid form is just not going to get you very far.
You want B12? Inject it, you’re not absorbing crap of it orally.
B12 is supposed to have a host of positive effects, but I’ve injected it before and never found it to be anything different.
And I can tell a difference from the small stuff on my body.

You have to have a deficiency to “feel” the small effects of b-12. Just like zinc.
b-2 is high doses (100mg) WILL cause a false positive on a urine analysis paper test for drug THC.
