Shirt bench at the end of the workout is getting easier. The problem I’m having is with my boards. When the weight gets heavy, I’m wanting to bring my heels and hips up to try to force the weight up. Need to work on keeping everything tight.
Overall, not a bad workout for my back being as tight and sore as it is.
I was thinking of going with a metal v-squatter but I’ve read mixed reviews on them. I really like my Inzer Max DL, so maybe I’ll go with a Inzer hardcore. Any suggestions.
Not really sure what fed I’m going to compete in yet. It depends who is putting on something close to home. I need to look and see what is scheduled around the midwest. Also, we are looking at maybe putting on a couple of APF meets over the next year.
dude if your going to lift in the apf take a look at the Inzer Canvas Hybrid…the money is high but it will out last 3 poly suits and there is not a suit in the world that can compare…bm
Thanks for the reminder. I remember seeing this a while back. Double canvas/double poly! Do you have this suit personally? If so, what do you get out of it?
Yea this is the suit i wear…i used the metal v-type previous wich i liked but it really cant compare to the inzer hybrid…i have used the suit 4 times had it about 8 weeks or so…the first 2 times i used the suit i couldnt hit depth with anything…3rd time did a very very easy 635 for 2 reps straps down…and then 2 fridays ago i did a super easy 675 for 2 reps straps down i didnt even really strain…these weights used to fell like max attempts in the metal in the hybrid there nothing…in fact if i put my straps up i probally wouldnt hit depth with much less than 700…the suit in unreal and the great thing about it is it dosent stretch like poly so you can use as much as you want and its the type of suit that the more you use the better your with it…one warning though if you wear the metal brifs they really wont fit under the suit and you cant hit depth with them under the suit…the powerpants work best under the hybrid…dude if your seriosu about getting it check out www.irongladiators.com its 275$ there…and its worth every damn penny…bm
Overall, this workout sucked. I got the the gym about 30 minutes before they closed. Major traffic problems. Apparently, everyone in St. Louis forgets how to drive when it rains. Anyway…

I hate driving 30 miles for a crappy workout but a crappy workout is better than no workout at all.
I haven’t tried the animal paks before and I’m not much into supplements other than PWO nutrition and Whey during the day. I feel that these new packs have helped my recovery. I’m simply not as sore between workouts.
The paks are Amino Acids. One set is called the ‘human muscle protein complex’ and contains 5g of various aminos. The other set is ‘pro BCAA complex’ and contains 7g of BCAAs.
The boards are literally 2x6 boards screwed together. We use them to bench off of. You assume a typical bench press position and the boards are placed on top of the chest. It allows you to work a specific range of the bench press while still being able to feel the weight pressing down on you. We have boards ranging from 1-board (a single 2x6) to 6-boards (6 2x6s stacked on top of one another).
The reverse hyper is a machine used to strenghten the lower back, glutes and, to a lesser degree, the hamstrings. Also, it does wonders for the lower back by applying traction to it as the sacrum rotates down. Find illustrations at westside-barbell.com.
