Augmentin for Acne

Hi guys I heard this works quite well is it true? ive taken accutane as a teenager but it was quite drastic. ive noticed acne while on enanthate but never noticed it on sust! weird? would it be viable to take augmentin while on?

Augmentin is a broad-spectrum that’s sometimes euphemistically referred to as ‘gag-amycin’ in medical circles. It makes a lot of people nauseated and is generally hard on the tummy. Yeah, it works, but life’s too short.

Personally, I’d say invest in scrubs and skincare products with salicylates (Neutrogena has some effective ones, for instance.) Taking antibiotics for minor problems can result other issues – GI distress from killing natural flora, selecting for drug-resistant bacteria, etc.

If you must, I’d say use Keflex or something that’s easier on you and use in lowest effective doses.

yea bud im on enanathate as well i notice no acne on my face but its deifnately sprang up on my back and shoulder - im currently using a cream called clydoxel (get back to you on the spelling) it works well if applied for a week straight - they slowly dry out and dissappear - but im looking into accutane - but creams work well to

Dude take pro-active or something

pro active eh? did that shit work well for you or someone you know man? i still have a bit on my delts - lets jst say this clindoxel shit keeps the acne at bay - barely at bay

dont expect much from pro active, they do very minimal at best. ur better off applying rubbing alcohol 2-3 times daily on oily areas. better yet, goto the beach and rub the sand into your skin (i read this somewhere, never tried it myself) the sun and salt water gonna destroy that nasty acne.

anyways i saw a show which i cant remember the name that did research on how much bullshit pro active is. even if you watch thier commercial u see peeps with BAD acne that say how much pro active has helped but in tiny letters on the screen it will say “not for use for people with severe acne” (not word for word, but you get the picture) which contradicts the whole product. tanning is ur best friend against acne, a sun tan! not a fake tan in the machine that last 2-3 days and leaves u looking like u have even more acne then u did before u went in the tanning bed.

off topic but tanning beds destroy my ass and leave it burning for days.

I have personally used pro active and although its a pain to like apply it twice a day it def works and if it doesnt they will refund every bottle

Augmentin is too strong for acne treatment, IMO. Ask you doctor for a prescription for acne medication if it’s that bad (cream or oral med). My first choice would be doxycycline – its easier on your body (relatively) and dirt cheap. Augmentin is pricey.

(If you really want to know, doxycycline or tetracycline - same med family - improve the fatty acid metabolism of the skin, thus clearing your acne. It has little to do with the anti-biotic properties of the drug).

I say, Enjoy the acne. It means your juice is working.

get a 10% peroxide cream and use it religiously. as in apply is to your skin until the skin burns. burns as in 5-10 (or more, make it hurt) layers, at least once a day. this helps me a lot. i just load the shit until it hurts. i think this is actually the way 10% peroxide meds are meant to be taken (and proactive as well) for people with troubling skin, but if you only use a little bit at a time, it won’t work very well. use lots.

Thanks for all the great replys. I think I’ll try out some oral cream before hititng the drastic stuff.
