At the onset, Bill Roberts laid out the basic diet program while on Mag-10 to consist of 400 grams protein, 500 grams carbs, and minimal fat coming from EFA’s. Judging by the responses in both of the Mag-10 Support Group threads, this formula for the most part is being adhered to by most. However, I would like to see SPECIFICALLY how everyone’s diet looks on a typical day (training or non) laid out in the form of when meals are eaten, what meal of the day it is (example Meal 3), and most importantly what the meal consists of. I am curious as to how much protein powder is being used and what carb sources are being chosen. Any other input or reasoning that can be added as to why one eats a particular food at a particular time would be helpful as well. I think this could help all of us in constructing and refining our Mag-10 diets to get the most bang for our buck.
To clarify a little, I didn’t mean fat
only from EFA’s, just keeping fats low,
and it’s a good idea to make sure that
you get enough EFA’s.
I’m a student, so I didn’t have the money or patience to make an intricate diet plan. Every two hours throughout the day I had 2 servings of oatmeal and 2 scoops of protein powder. (Sometimes this was not possible on days with a lot of classes, so I got some cheap MRPs) During and after a workout I drank Surge. At night before I went to sleep I downed a casein shake with flax. Sure, it all got tedious, but the results have been worth it (i’ll post them soon, when I’ve figured for sure how much was muscle & water). This all meant usually around 18 scoops of protein powder per day. It sure was a spartan regime, but I convinced myself every time I was not hungry but eating anyways, that I was growing because of it. On average I ate 4800-5000 cal/day.
