Attempting to Bulk

Trying to bulk. Want to get up to 195-200 but cant seem to put on a pound. I know my diet is crap. I just need to stay on a routine eating wise, or just eat everything in sight. But heres me now:

Idk what I was going for. But I know I need to eat, eat, eat but otherwise any advice? Also, due to a leg injury my legs are lagging most, imo. Other than them what would you say needs most work. Kind of a bad question, because my whole body is lagging!

I had this problem back my freshman year of college. My whole year was wasted cuz I didnt eat right and I drank almost every friday.

1st-Clear your house/fridge/pantry of food that is crap. Then go grocery shop and focus on…

meat/poultry/eggs/fish
Veggies/fruits
Rice/beans/nuts & get yourself a decent bottle of olive oil.

By clearing out your house of crap and buying what you need to eat, you will force yourself into eating right cuz it will be all you have. At same time, if you really want to build your physique, you have to have some will power man.

Yeah I was really just looking for diet advice. I am on kingbeefs workout so I think Im set on routine now it’s just down to diet. The thing is I can eat a lot I just can’t be on a strict diet and eat the same stuff everyday. I know that as long as I get my macros in I’ll be fine. Im thinking around 3400-3500 calories. When I do go shopping what should I look for. Chicken, steak, potatoes, veggies, nuts that’s all I really know.

2 things that I know can be important are Tuna and cottage cheese but I cannot stand either of those. I did start eating Greek yogurt instead of cottage cheese though. What other meats would you guys say? Or carbs. I need variety. And right now I have no diet so I can’t really post one up. But yesterday I ate:

3 egg ham and cheese omelet
1 bagel
2 cups milk
2 sunny side up eggs

1 chicken breast with 1 cup mashed potatoes

After workout
Whey shake then chicken breast and potatoes(1cup) again

Half a kinders pork tenderloin. 2 cups mashed potatoes broccoli.

Also I love to eat healthy that comes naturally to me. But should I be expanding and eating some crap since I’m bulking or stay very clean? Also I will put up more pics later

I agree with everything said here. The only thing I would do differently is throw in some fast food every 2-3 days if you’re really having trouble gaining weight. A few baconators can fix any bulking problem lol.

Haha to be honest with you. I’m sure this would help… If I don’t eat for a few hours I can feel my body just burning and losing water weight or whatever. But my brother used to eat fast food everyday and he was in good shape IMO. So idk lol

You need help bulking… then you need help cleaning up your diet…, then you want your physic evaluated…, then you eat pretty healthy…, then you want healthy options giving to you.

Your twenty-freaking-one! I recommend you lift with intensity and consistence and eat at a caloric surplus for growth. Beyond that you should eat fast food, drink beer, stay out all night, and get laid whenever possible.

Maybe I was confusing. All I was saying is yes I do want ideas for foods to eat or maybe a sample diet. But yes I do eat clean and I always have. Maybe that has hindered me gaining weight at some points and I was also just wondering where I’m laggin the most. Even though that’s a dumb question bc I look like an anorexic Abercrombie model.

i’d say whatever 1.5 g protein/lb bw adds up to for you, then fill in the blanks with carbs and fat as needed. i don’t think anyone can really tell you how to split up the rest of your cals into carbs and fat, as everyone grows and reacts differently to different amounts of carbs. for instance, if i keep my carbs to a max of 100g pre and 100g post and fill in the rest with protein and fat, i tend to gain less fat than if i ate more carbs and i grow and recover just fine.

you’ll have to play with the numbers yourself to see what works for you. you could very well go with the macros you listed, grow like a weed, demolish workouts and gain very little fat compared to someone like me.

also, you have to eat more, period. what you posted up there doesn’t look like it would crack 3000 cals.

as far as your legs go, just find a movement that you can do without pain and that you can progress with. ideally you’d squat and deadlift but you don’t have to do those movements if you can’t. your legs will grow just fine using a leg press.

Yeah I understand. Thanks for the good information. Ill just eat what I see and post back in awhile. As far as protein…How much protein should I be getting from shakes? One two shakes a day? Also do you think its a good idea to mix the whey with natural PB and dextrose Post workout?

I’d say as little as you need to hit your macro. I’d keep it to the periworkout period if necessary to hit your goal and then as needed.

for a post-shake I’d take the natty PB out unless you absolutely need it to hit your calorie total and can’t put it anywhere else in the day.

when bulking, keep the following in mind:

bw, weights used and measurements (arm/leg/chest circumference) going up every week or so = good

bw+weights used or weights used+measurements going up = still good

bw+measurements going up with no increase in weights used or improved rep speed/control = may be cause for concern, bw and measurements going up may be fat. adjust diet and training intensity accordingly.

Hmm. I should be seeing those results!? I havent seen those since i started lifting! I had those results for about 6 months and it was awesome. But Id say the last 2-3 months no increase in any measurement but my strength has gone up…LOL. I need to seriously eat. Thanks for the good info!!
