Atlas Shrugged; I Pressed

Thanks gents. Survived another week. Anymore, that is an achievement.

High/low-lights of the week,

Made 3 attempts at 315# on MP day. I thought, as did Mrs. Strick, that the 1st attempt was a done deal. Then the right side drifted back and I lost it. Next 2 attempts we out of frustration and out of gas. Seeing as how that only thing I succeeded at was getting pissed off, I will be pounding my head against the wall for a few workouts. My body can either press the damned weight or prepare to hurt like hell from trying.

I did manage a Kroc PR today…130x30. Nothing that will make headlines, but not a bad end to a stressful, non-stop week.

Not sure what to do Sunday. If I am still pissed about the 405# bench and 315# walls, I might just push it. Of course, what I should do is go medium and be ready to push MP on Wednesday. But we all know better than that.

Rest up Strick. Those lifts are right around the corner.
Nice work on the Krockies.

Thanks OP. We’ll get there. Just never as fast as I would like.

Bench and Arms

Felt really sore and beat up today. I am attributing it to 3 failed MP attempts at 315# and the Krocs PR. Even though, it wasn’t a bad day for strength. Fatigue was the enemy today.

Thanks OG. No PM. The last one Steve sent never made it either. It’s a conspiracy! lol

Quick catch up. Decided to “deload” this week. Too many weeks of head vs. wall.
Not youe typical deload, mind you. More of a just avoid anything near maximal weight, deload.

Military Press

There we have it.

yup looks just like my deloads…slap 205 on the bar and rep it for 15 overhead…yup just like my deload…if it were minus 100 lbs and 5 reps!!!

Hope the work thing is clearing up…be well

OG, it’s all I got. I don’t have any gorilla walks, Klokov’s, slosh pipes, etc… I am a one trick pony…lol.

Things at work do seem to be getting better. It is a good time of the year for it as well.
Dear ol’ dad is coming out for a visit, next week. He’ll get to watch my youngest play football! BTW…my youngest has finally started to catch on. He was in on 4 tackles in a row the other day. Tears of pride and joy for him “getting it” and realizing that he got it.

That is wonderful about your boy! Im sure there will be many more tears of Pride and Joy in the years ahead! Enjoy the time with your Pops…

Pressing looks awesome and its great to hear the son is getting it.

Thanks Joe.
OG, it will be a good time. Let’s see if he yells at his grandson the way he yelled at me…lol.

He’ll get his chance. They play between 3 and 6 games while he is here.

Bench Press “deload” day.

Sticking with my “deload” (stay away from maximal weights) plan.

Bench
barx20
95x10
135x10
185x5
225x5
275x5
315x11 - PR +1 Rep … nothing left in the tank
315x5

Left it there.
Still haven’t decided if I am going for reps or back to the wall, for next week.

315 x 11. Wow, great work.

Thanks, Jack. I know there are folks on here that can scoff at 315x11, but, for me, it doesn’t see that long ago that I was trying to get it once.

I’m with jj, 315x11 is freaking outstanding.

I think you were being lazy…it should have been 12!!! just kidding…seriously, nice pressing Big Man…Im seeing 4 bills and beyond!

Hopefully you had some football fun to go along with the BP success!
