I think she really can be. And she does have good genes…from her Momma.

Then picked them berries. Hopefully Jam will be made this week.

Great Stuff Skip, good living when you can share something with your kids other than money !

Yep… Of course, when it came time to food mill the berries, last night, no one was to be found. It took me 3 hours to food mill all of them and clean up.

Tonight, Jennifer and I made the jam…1.75 gallons of it.

Unofficial weigh-in this morning. Down 35# even.

Good thing my Dad is coming to visit. I need a break…lol.
There will be at least one big BBQ, a couple of cobblers and lots of boiled peanuts. My goal is to not gain more than a pound or so. So, I guess it will be a mix of feast and famine.

Enjoy your feastin!

You have room for one more? I’ll even help clean up.

Steve, brother, you are always welcome. And you won’t even have to clean up…unless you are talking about the leftovers.

Harry, it will be enjoyable…minus the guilt. I am sure I can deal with it though.

Bench Day

I am going to quit calling this “bench day”. What I am doing can’t rightly be called “bench”.

Bench
barx15
95x10
135x10
185x10
225x5
275x5
started playing with my grip here
295x4
300x3
300x1x2

I cannot find a grip where my elbows don’t flare. I think it is because my forearms are slightly angled towards my head, when I touch. So, my elbows are flaring out to get back directly under the bar. I tried index finger on the ring, middle finger on the ring and ring finger on the ring. The closer in I got, the heavier the weight felt…and my forearm still angled. I would say that the solution is to touch lower, but I am already touching at my xyphoid process.
I need a bench coach.

Face Pulls
150x15x3
switched to grip with hands on the inside
150x12x2

Military Press
175x10x3 - These were hard. Last set was a grinder. But glad to get all 30 reps.

DB Bent Rows
120x12x2

Seated Row Machine Thangy
150x12
170x10x2

Lexie’s Workout

Bench
Barx10
65x5
75x5 - nice strong reps with several in the tank
80x4 - freaked out on the 5th rep and just stopped. Started having a mild anxiety attack, for some unknown reason.
Otherwise, this was going great

Face Pulls
40x12
45x12
50x12x2

Lat Pulls
50x10x3

Seated Rows
50x10x3

Leg Extensions
50x10
70x10
90x10

Really frustrated with Bench. I should give myself a bit of a pass since I am still losing weight. And, obviously, I have form/grip issues. But it is still disheartening. The only offset was the 175x10x3 on MP. Nothing to do but keep plugging away. Every bench workout, though, I question whether the continued weight loss is worth it.

With all the weight you have been dropping as of late i wouldn’t get too worried about Bench. It will work itself out…

I hope so. I, of course, will keep on working it.

Military Day

Did a lot of singles and doubles while trying various hand placements. Seems that I have been using the one that is best.

Military Press
Barx15
95x10
135x10
170x5
200x5
225x3
235x1
225x1x3
225x2x2
225x1x2

Face Pulls - alternating inside and outside grip
160x12x4

Upright Row/Face Pull hybrid - pulley was just above waist level and I was standing away from it
130x10x3

Lat Pulls
165x10x3

Rear Delt Raises
45x10x2
30x10

DB Laterals
40x10
25x12
20x12

Rear Delt Machine
95x10x2

Gonna start eating more. Tired of feeling like this. But, I am going to try to hold my weight below 290#. I was 286.8#, yesterday morning…putting me down exactly 36#.
Once my strength starts to return, I will look at going back on the weight loss, at a much slower rate.

Quick in and out today.
Decided to work on back…to make sure I am getting enough of that in with all of the pushing.

Lat Pulls - Alternated wide grip and shoulder grip
145x10x6

Seated Row Machine
150x10x5

Seated Cable Rows
270x12x3

Lat Machine Thangy
170x10x2

Different Machine Row Thangy
200x10x3

Off to swim at my brothers and have supper over there.

Losing weight is tough work especially when one is trying to keep their strength. Eating and feeling good sounds like a lot more fun.

You know, I am the worst bencher in the world. But I have made some huge form changes in the last few months where I am using my back and have essentially taken my shoulders outta the equation. Can’t explain how other than to say my elbows are very tucked and it’s only my mid-back and glutes that feel it the day after. I don’t know if the form change will transfer to more maximal strength. But I can say with certainty that my shoulders never hurt anymore. And that is a huge win for me.

Agreed. Eating and feeling good is a lot more fun. The good news is that I can afford to eat more, as long as I stay away from much sugar.

I need to make some changes too. Unfortunately, it is all just a shot in the dark without someone to help guide me. I’ll get to it. Right now, there is just too much other stuff going on.
