Just called the lab because I feel nothing from my T, I quadrupled the amount and still felt nothing which I suspect is because of the prednisone I had to take for 2 weeks but I still cannot reconcile the low hemoglobin while on TRT either.
I am keeping an eye on my AST with monthly blood work but she just said T would irritate the liver a little bit even though it was not an oral delivery.
I thought that T would not impact my liver as long as I got over the needle thing and injected IM.
There are liver problems associated with test injection-cholestatic hepatitis. This is usually associated with high dose/long term injections, especially test enanthate. This untoward effect will usually manifest with jaundice (the yellowing of skin and sclera due to high levels of bilirubin) and abnormal liver function tests.
This may not be directly related to test if you recently started test under a doctor’s advice. If you have not had a hepatitis panel drawn,I would recommend this to rule out other causes and please stay away from oral testosterone;IM/SC injections are transported to receptor sites whereas oral meds are subject to “hepatic first pass” where approximately 90% are eliminated and can cause hepatic problems including cancer.

I expect that that will never occur with HRT/TRT with a healthy liver.
I agree but the quadrupling of test doses and prednisone intake are bothersome.Prednisone has been known to cause hypercholesterolemia which could place an additional insult to the liver.
After the prednisone cycle is complete, the AST may return to normal range and the effects of the testosterone may well become apparent. As you stated in an earlier post,TRT by itself may not be beneficial without HRT also.
